I am in college now (community) and things are so much harder for me. In high school, I went to home schooling for all 4 years. And I had one teacher the whole time. Now to my point. I first of all, can't spell, which my teacher accepted and gave me a's on papers that had poor spelling because she knew it wasn't my fault. However my teachers here are not so nice. Second of all, I write in all capital letters, I have no idea why, but I really don't remember how to write in lowercase (unless i'm using a computer) this is something my teacher also excused but my professors arn't! Third, I can't come up with the words to express what I mean. My teacher in high school would ask me about a book I had just read, and I couldn't tell her anything about it. Yet, if I took a test on it, I could get 100%. And finally, I often look at words and see words that are not even there. Its like my mind plays tricks on me. I'll be reading and i'll think it said something, then i'll go back, and it says a completly different word. I asked my mom who is a teacher herself, and she thinks it could be dyslexia. What do you think. And what should I do about it. At the rate i'm going, I will not pass college this way!

  1. Wow, I am surprised that your home school teacher did nothing but let it slide. That is not very professional. You can go to the doctor and see if you are diagnosed with Dyslexia, they may even be able to make the college aware of your "disease." I would do this sooner rather than later, so hopefully it won't affect your college education as much. Good luck!
