Do you think I should get a Lawyer for immigration purpose?

I am a US Citizen and I am trying to get my husband legal. Do you think I need a lawyer for this?

Yes get a lawyer. Otherwise you will get stuck in the morass that is Immigration. Also when you go to get papers that you will need for immigration make sure to get 5 or 6 copies. For example you need a birth certificate. When you go to records to obtain this pay and get 5 while you are there. Immigration routinely loses paperwork and sends requests for more. Giving your lawyer multiple certified copies at once saves you and him lots of trouble in the long run,

Yes, I think you should because they can help you with some things that you may not read about and know about. If you don't hire an immigration laywer it could make the process longer, for example, if you file all of your forms and you wait 2 years for a response and THEN immigration tells you that you forgot to do something or fill out a slip of paper that was needed.. this could take up a lot of time.

I think it would be a great idea for you to move to Mexico.  He will feel more comfortable in his homeland.   Its also cheap to live there.
