It's always useful to know new language! But careful, it's not an easy language to learn. If you have the will to practice though, you'll succeed.

Its a misconception that more people speak spanish or that it is more useful than french, although its true on this side of the globe. But for the rest of the world (especially europe and parts of africa), there are actually more French speaking nations than Spanish ones. But of course it depends what you plan to do with the language you choose.
