Do you think I would be a terrible person....

...if I were to leave my poor children home with their father so that I can go have fun jumping in the water of Lake Tahoe without them?

They don't want to go.

My sister has a reservation at a sublime camping spot and I've got the time off work approved.

My husband is cool either way (he does not have enough vacation time to go).

Strike one: They don't want to go.

Strike two: It would be easier without them, but lonlier. I want them to go.

Strike three: Just looking for some input...

THANKS

(They're 15)

  1. They don't even want to go,, and your worried about being a terrible person? I think you just want them to go,, and they don't,,so that makes you feel bad..

Stop worrying so much, I seriously doubt your a BAD person

  2. Im 15, trust me they don't want to go anyways.

    Enjoy yourself; have fun.

    they'll be perfectly fine.

  3. Forgot to answer the Q - no. No doubt you already know the answer - you go girl! They don't want to go, you don't want to leave them (they're 15 - it'll be good for them and you). What are they, twins? Isn't lake Tahoe a little cool, even now? How about them old style runabouts? They're cool! Your husband's cool - everything's cool. . . .and you get to spend some quality time with your sister (of course you may already get that - but not quite in that manner at least). Have fun! You seem to get a lot of vacation time.

    Watch out for them casinos.

  4. Go and have fun. Dont they go do stuff without you?

  5. You need time away and they need time away from you. go for it relax..............

  6. They dont want to go, your husband doesnt mind, the teens do not mind and mama probably needs to go and have some  fun with sister.

  7. i agree with number one !!

ur absence will love u more !!

and u will have fun, while they rest away from u

and ur not''terrible'' because they DON'T want to go !!

    have fun !! xoxo

  8. It would be lonelier, but would you be able to get over the lonely and still have fun? If so, go do it.

  9. Hey, if they don't want to go that's their call! ;]

And you know you'll be happy with an amazing tan. You're husband will like it, too. :P

  10. I and my kids loved it went my wife went away on her annual vacations with her girlfriends!  My wife and I took separate vacations while the kids were growing up.  We also took vacations together.  You NEED a break from the family once in a while.

It's also fun when you get back (wink, wink).

  11. They're 15, they can fend for themselves with their father. Go, HAVE FUN! If they didn't want to go, you can't force them to. They'll have fun by themselves without you around anyways! =]

  12. Go ahead and go!  If they don't mind, and your husband doesn't either, then you totally deserve a break.  Maybe take a friend along so you aren't so lonely.  And if you don't then it'll give you some time to yourself to relax.  Have fun!! =]

  13. If they don't want to go

Just go have fun come back and brag

about all the fun they missed out on

Have a good time on your trip

Hope this helps good luck =]

  14. Go for it!

  15. No, you're a smart person

  16. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and helps mom get a great tan :)

  17. Are you kidding me?  If they don't want to go, do not, by any means twist their arms.

You say they're 15, are we talking twins here? If you're hubby is down with being left to the tender mercies of a pair of 15-year-olds, get out of town, like two hours ago, before he realizes what he's let himself in for, and comes to his senses.

Seriously, sweetie, you're not actually abondoning the bambinos.  They've got their Dad.

And it's only for a few days, right?  It's not as if you're leaving on the Lewis and Clark Expedition, y'know.

I know you love the kids...and your other half...but that doesn't mean yinz guys are all joined at the hip.  There's nothing wrong with a few days of "Me Time."

And in your absense, they'll learn to appreciate you a bit more.  Upon your return, they'll probably be spreading flower petals on the sidewalk as you approach.

Of course, if you're THAT devoted to your family, Angelface and I could pinch-hit for you.  It would be tough, but somebody would have to do it.

    Go and have fun, darlin'.

  18. They're 15? Heh- odds are they Want you to go! lol

  19. I'd go in a flash. I have three... 20, 18 and 16.... and they are big enough and clever enough to look after themselves, at least for a while. Don't feel guilty... get up and live!@

  20. either way you will have fun and they seem like they are happy for you! i wish i could send my mom on vacation. she deserves it. she hasnt been on a vacation in ten years. so go have fun! and im sure you ll come back young again and refreshed and your kids will be glad to see you home.

    be safe have fun!

  21. Hope you brought a wet suit.  That water is COLD.  If you are to camp at Emerald Bay, by any chance, go by yourself.  The stunning beauty of the surrounding steep mountains, the bright blue lake, the peace of mind, and the tranquility are priceless.  Treat yourself to some alone time.

  22. Definitely go. You will have fun! It'll be a nice little vacation away from each other, and you will all be delighted to see each other when you return.

    Have fun!
