  1. As long as you wear one of proper size.

  2. speedos are gross on old guys

  3. um mm no ...no guys look good in skimpy speedos maybe the ones they wear now tha cover most things up but you need to have some muscles...so its only for a few people.

  4. Hey, I am planning on starting to swim again now for health and pride reasons. I have put on about 5 stone since I finished swimming 6 years ago, but if you are going to be swimming for a team, you will need to wear trunks for efficiency. It shouldn't matter what you look like when you are in the swimming pool. I am not concerned by it either, As you start to swim more and more often, any fat sill slowly start to fade away and muscles will start too appear. So yeah you will look fine, I used to train with a lot of swimmers who used to have a "little extra meat" and they pull it off somehow by wearing 2 pairs of trunks, with the bottom pair undone with the cords hanging down. Too answer you, you will look fine, and good luck and have fun in training and competition.

  5. It really doesn't matter how you look. If you are going to join the swim team and get fit and work out, good for you.

Those of us who are lap swimmers, we are not that concerned with how you look in a Speedo brief. I am there to work, not be a fashion plate.

    Good luck.

  6. well, id say you'd look alright as long as alot of belly pudge doesnt hang over the top, or you look cinched in it. haha. But, who cares? If you think you look good, thats all that matters.

  7. Speedos or other spandex bathing suits like squarecuts or jammers are a must if you're plaining on joining a serious swim team. So I don't see why it wouldn't be alright to wear a speedo. The issue shouldn't be about if you look good or not in a speedo but rather if its practical or not for your swimming purposes.

If you are concerned about the extra pounds, what you could do is start by wearing a jammer. When you have lost a few extra pounds, go for a squarecut. When you have lost the remaining extra pounds and are completely sastisfied with your body size,  go for the speedo.
