I'm a mom to three, my youngest is 5 months old. I have battled with food all my life I use to go days without eating because I was not hungry and then I would eat alot one day and it would keep me satified for a couple more days. Recently in the past 1 1/2 months I started my bad eating habits back up and lost 20lbs so far. I'm now down to 133lbs. The problem is in the past two months things have been getting a little more serious i think. I refuse to eat more that a couple hundred calories 300 sounds like to many now. I like to snack on lettuce because i heard it was a negative calorie food along with apples. I've been feeling guilty if I eat to much or I'll be afraid I will gain weight so I end up getting sick. I'm not sure what to do and on top of that when I do eat I will take 4 laxatives which is the recommened dose. I'm started to get ligh headed when I stand up sometimes almost where my vision is completly blurred. I've been getting alot of comments lately about my weight lose which makes me really happy. The more that Im thinking about what i'm writing I already know the answers im going to get. What should I do about this?

  1. It's important to be healty, not just thin.  You have to make changes, and start taking better care of your body for you children and family.  I'm no expert but 133 lbs sounds like a decent weight.  I do try to lose weight as well, but try to focus on building muscle and strength.  Find a good work out routine that you can do at home, or go to a gym or physical trainer if you need some help holding yourself accountable.  If  you can't afford the physical trainer or gym membership.  Find a neighbor or someone, anyone, that can help you!  You have to focus on giving your body the correct foods so you can have the strength and energy to work out or at least go for a run or something.  This new focus may be what you need.  Also you can learn eating habits that are good for you without starving yourself.

The fact that you posted this question means you want to do better.  And the more I type, the more concerned I am for you.  If you want feel free to contact me!  I would love to help you out, and just be a friend that you can talk to, and I need help being more consistant in my workouts and healthy eating anyway.  We can hold each other accountable.  If you want to leave an email address for me, I would be glad to talk with you more!  If not, then good luck and take care of yourself for your babies!

  3. How tall are you?  20 lbs on a short woman is more significant than on a woman who plays basketball professionally. Make an appointment with health professional who specialize in these eating disorders.

  4. well, since you're not throwing up...i'd say it most resembles anorexia when you choose not to eat, and pretty much starve yourself. the best thing to do...is to FORCE yourself to eat..but dont eat like a normal person would right away. what you have to do, is start slowly, and even if you're not hungry, just fill your stomach up with something. whether it is a fruit or a slice of bread ...slow and steady, and then keep adding things to your diet.

  5. didnt you just ask this question?

  6. You do have a problem. You need to get help soon. Tell your family doctor what is going on so that you can be referred to the appropriate resources for help.. You are doing serious damage to yourself. These disorders can end up being deadly, and I'm sure that you want to be around to watch your three kids grow up.
