I just love Indian Blessing - she ran her heart out today, I think the heat go to her - but anyway, I would love to see them too battle it out again! They remind me so much of Affirmed and Alydar.

Maybe in the Distaff? (:

Thanks, if you know anything.!

Also - my hat is off to Big Brown who ran a heck of a race, he would have done so much better if that heat wasn't like it was! I believe he really could have got it, but he got over heated.

THANKS!

  1. I really don't think the two fillies will ever meet again.  Proud Spell will go to the Distaff or "Ladies Classic" as it's now called.  She's probably going to aim for the New York races... things like the Mother Goose, Coaching Club American Oaks, the Ruffian, the Gazelle, the Alabama...  Races that are over 1 mile.  Indian Blessing will probably cut back in length.  The Acorn was 1 mile and although Indian Blessing did run well, she couldn't extend her speed over the entire distance.  She'll be much more effective at a sprint race... races where the distance is less than 1 mile.  I doubt that Indian Blessing will ever go more than 1 mile.  I think they're firmly in 2 different categories of horse race now.  While it would be really cool to see them race each other again, I think those days are over.

  2. Blessing ran a very nice race. She was smokin the fractions. The Breeders Cup this year is really questionable for a lot of horses because it is going to be run on a synthetic and the synthetic can do weird things to the best of horses. Proud Spell already showed she didnt have a liking toward the synthetic. But Proud Spell is obviosly a more distant filly and Indian Blessing is more of a sprint type filly.
