Actually, Muslim extremists are bombing Russia( they are called disgruntled Chechnians). What over riding common interests do they have?  The Russian have sold them technology but then they are logical enough trading partners ( lots of minerals including uranium in

Iran so at least we don't have to hear a tired old canard about yellow

cake). It is possible but only after  the US/Israelis attack Iran and the dust has settled.  The Russians will sit that one out.
