  2. Anyone, not just Italians, who knows good food will be picky about eating at second-rate places (English cuisine is not exactly world-class).

  3. Italians aren't picky I don't think, they just know what tastes good and they just have good food.

  4. i live in Italy.

  8. OK thanks

  9. i love italian food.

  10. I do not believe picky is the proper word, how about they have their preferences. Don't we all?

  11. Food is highly valued as a commodity in Italy, but it's probably the way we eat rather than what we eat that the Italians find repulsive. A Meal in Italy is an event; a social gathering with a large selection of home-cooked treats. A meal here is throwing food down our throats, and the fast-food industry really embodies this approach. It's not surprising then that the Italians aren't too keen on being taken out for dinner rather than enjoying some quality time with their hosts.

  12. Italians aren't fussy eaters, they just don't like their food messed about with. The English tend to over season food or use too many herbs or spices. The Italian philosophy is that if it's a fish...then that's good enough and that's what it should taste of. It's all about making the best of the base ingredient.

Having said that, the Italians don't need to go abroad...sometimes the next village can be too far and regarded as foreign food. Everywhere you go in Italy will have it's own recipe for the same thing. Still the best food in the world because it's based on home cooking and what's fresh or available at the time.

  13. Not picky, they just care about it passionately.

They believe that good food needs good ingredients. In the UK most restaurants look for the cheapest ingredients, not the best. There are exceptions but you have to look for them.

  14. i go to italy a lot haveing close relatives that r italins n my uncle is an italin chef i can say they r pick but its not that they r pick they r just used to better food thats all

  15. it all depends on the person i would rather have a good home made italian meal than anything but i am italian

  16. How can you say the Italians are Picky about food when all they eat is long white worms, and colourful Frisbee's

  17. Italians believe (and I agree) that they can cook better than any restaurant. Food is very important to them. Wish I could live there!!

  18. Joe Pesci is my hero.

  19. I'm Italian, i love our food... I'm not picky with food, i like try food from other countries but, as long i taste other food, even more i adore Italian food...

when i go abroad i want to came back just to have my pasta cooked by my mum !!!   ;-D

    mum is the best !!!

  20. i dont think they're picky eaters, they just like their food better and it takes some getting used to for them to try new things.

  21. i think italians have a relationship with their food, its more than just food to them, look at how they cook and enjoy their food. i work part time at an italian resturant (trattoria rustica, norwich) and i must admit my italian boss loves food and enjoys seeing people enjoy food.

  22. Italians are very fussy eaters! Every region has a different way of making the same dish and they all think their mamma's is the best!

I'm English, I love Italian food and the way they are so passionate about cooking and eating. I think we could all learn something from them.

They could be a bit more open minded when it comes to trying new things, but why bother!

  23. I love Italian food. If I lived in Italy and ate that sort of food all the time I too, would probably turn my nose up at being taken to an English resturant. (apart from the local chippy)

  24. must be nice to be you to ***** go to all these paces and spend money.. but neway.. uh pasta pizza sounds good
