He looks awful. Just awful. He doesn't look like a major league pitcher. I think he lacks confidence. I don't think he has won a game since early June.

  1. Give him back to the Tigers. Look at the lousy players we got for him.

  2. He needs to be sent back to the tigers for renteria who is horrible lol

Yes i am a frustrated tigers fan and wouldnt mind having that trade back because jurrjens will be a good major league pitcher someday and renteria well yea you may have seen him play defense this year...enough said lol

  3. JJ is struggling right now. Very true. He is going to be amazing though. We've already seen how he can pitch. He's just in a slump right now. Our season is lost anyways...may as well let him work through this against major leaguers. He'll get through it, and he'll be better for it in the end. He's a great young pitcher.

  4. Nope.  It's a lost season for Atlanta anyways, and there is no doubt Jurrjens is a major part of Atlanta's future.  This is the time of year teams bring up young players anyways.  Let him work on fixing this against major league hitters.

  5. No.

He is currently 11-9 with a 3.56 ERA.  Before the last two games his ERA was 3.15  His last win came on Aug 9.  It is not all his fault.  He is not getting much help from the offense.  For example on Aug 15 he pitched 7 innings allowed 2 earned runs and had 9Ks but got the loss.  He is a good pitcher but he just need some help from the offense.

  6. Wow, it wasn't so long ago the people on here were giving him the NL Rookie of the Year over Geovany Soto.

It's interesting that JJ has his worst start (3 IP, 6 ER) the same day the Soto has his best (3-5 HR, 7 RBI).

  7. Actually, he won games on 8/9, 7/25, 7/8. 6/27 and 6/16.

Before his last 2 poor outings, he had 5 quality starts in a row.

The season is tough on rookies.  He needs to ride it out so that he will be more experienced down the stretch next season.

Besides, do the braves have anyone better that is not on the DL that can take his spot in the rotation?

    No, they don't.
