  1. he deserves to,but it will probably be geovany soto

  2. it will be either geovany soto or kosuke fukudome i think. jurrjens is a great pitcher and all, but i don't think that he's made a huge huge difference for the braves, considering they probly aren't gonna make tha playoffs, whereas soto and fukudome have made big differences in the cubs lineup, both offensively and defensively

  3. Geovanny Soto will win ROY, book it. Jurrjens, though, definitely deserves some credit for having a great year, and could win Cy Youngs if he keeps performing like he is. The difference is Soto is having a great year on a high-profile team that is playoff-bound. The Braves are in 4th place with no prospect of moving up in the standings. I am a Cubs fan and will be happy if Soto wins, but if Jurrjens does end up with the award, I won't be able to complain.

  4. Either him or Geovany Soto they both r great players

  5. no for da nl it will be geovany soto for the cubs an excellent catcher

  6. well as a cubs fan (and this will sound biased) geovany soto should win rookie of the year. its extremely rare for a rookie catcher to come in and make as huge of an impact as soto has in his first season. jurrjens is having a fine season as well and he probably will give soto a run for his money.

  7. geovany soto

  8. Jair Jurrjens isn't even the rookie pitcher in the NL.

    Edinson Volquez is 13-4.

    ERA: 2.71

    K's: 139

    WHIP: 1.30

Batters are hitting .227 against him versus .245 for Jurrjens

Either ways, Geovanny Soto will be the Rookie of the Year, he is awesome especially for a Catcher.

  9. if he keeps doing this well he could but soto would probly win if the season ended now

and volquez is not a rookie

  10. He has been a very good rookie. Soto has been too - but Jurrjens is better between the two.

  11. I think that he certainly should. Jair has been a bright spot in a rather unfortunate year for the Bravos. He is the ace one the Braves staff at the moment. He has taken the role of a leader of a team that has been killed by injuries.

  12. No he wont and he shouldn't be.....

Edison Volquez should be the NL Rookie of the year, so long as he doesn't implode down the stretch.  If he gets to 15-17 wins for the season with a sub-3.00 ERA then its borderline impossible not to give him rookie of the year honors.

Soto is a good-to-great player, but he is hitting .278/17/62  Those are good numbers but a 15-17 win pitcher with a sub-3 ERA for a rookie is great (h**l, in this day and age for a veteran thats great)

Its BS because if Soto played for Pittsburgh nobody here would be able to tell who the h**l he is...

  13. I agree. As a Marlins fan, I've personally seen what Jurrjens can do.

  14. You obviously do not watch the Cubs

It is NOT BS if Soto wins it, because he is a rookie and handles the pitching staff like he a 10 year veteran, not to mention his offensive prowess as well.

Im not saying that Jurrgens doesn't deserve it, I'm saying that Soto rightfully deserves it more

  15. jair jurrjens has had the best year of any of the braves starters and without him, who knows where atlanta would be right now.But Volquez has been around the top of the league in k's and E.R.A. all year and Soto was the starting catcher in the all-star game for the national league and has led the cubs to the best record in the N.L.. As a big braves fan and an even bigger jair jurrjens fan, i think he has been the braves most consistant player but his team hasn't had the success soto's had and in the end i think that will cost him.love jair, but just don't see it happenin

  16. Jair Jurrjens is definitely the best rookie pitcher in the NL. the race between him and Soto for ROY will be tight. However, with the Cubs being in the playoff race i'd give the nod to Soto because he gets more press, being on a playoff team and all. Jurrjens deserves it more in my opinion.

NOTE: Volquez is not a rookie pitcher. he has pitched 80 innings prior to this season. the limit to remain a rookie is 50
