video was posted on allhiphop, Skillz speaking on why Kanye West was the last artist ushered into the game and why a "Changing of the Guard" hasnt happened yet...good stuff if you have time to listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKnj_ZhzvnE

alot of valid points..especially about Soulja Boy. He just got into the game and he's already helping to put people on

  1. I don't think that's true. Diddy did the Bad Boy South thing and got Young Jeezy into the game. Also Young Joc is on Bad Boy. Jay-Z keeps Memphis Bleek around whether he makes good music or not, and he puttin Beanie Siegel and Freeway out there. I might of missed somethin, I didn't check the video yet, I'm just comin from my knowledge.

  2. Dr. Dre is really the only established rapper that has ever brought talent into hip hop and allowed the artists that he "discovered" to surpass his fame. Everybody else is willing to bring new artists in, but to an extent they hold those artists back. That's partially the reason why the quality of hip hop has declined since the 90s. The most powerful figures in hip hop are the rappers that came up in 90s and they're putting a ceiling above the new artists because of their egos.

  3. Diddy and Jay are really in a league that much greater than Hip Hop because their accepted for much more than Hip Hip, such as their both many numerous business ventures, which makes them mogals. They kind've have nothing to earn anymore because to a certain extent, they've paid their dues. With these two guys, it's more so what you do with your opportunity than what they do for you. Of course their both in a position to do a lot, but both worked hard and isn't going to give anyone they come across a "free ride". Their road to success was long and tiredless and every act should have to go thru the same process for their opportunity because if not they will take it for granted. Sometimes it works, as in Kanye, Lupe and Rihanna to Jay's credit and Day 26, Danity Kane, Yung Joc and Cassie to Diddy's. But at times, everyone doesn't make the most of their opportunity or just work out, Teairra Mari or the Young Gunz for Jay, "Da Band", Dream (the girl group), Black Rob, Loon and Mario Winans for Diddy. With these guys, it's solely about their economic success because neither is going to jeopardize their income and the possibility of going back to their troubled past for the possibility of someone "making it too". If it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense and these two gentlemen live by that in every sense of the word.

  4. Once they see the money that's it..

What he said about Biggie was true.. If Puff met him now he wouldn't be put on..

  5. I do feel that veterans in hip hop have made good music and have ushered alot of raw, talented artist. Jay-Z has done good and is doing good recruiting, we all like Kanye and Rhianna. Diddy is out to make money whether we like it or not, groups such as Day 26 and Danity Kane aren't that talented but the fans think otherwise. But we definitely need more RAW talent in the game....

  6. In my opinion, being a rap mogul has already set into their mentality. They're both for self. As significant as Diddy is, no true artist will ever respect the dude. In my opinion, the last true artist he had was Shyne and we witnessed what transpired there. Honestly, I don't know what's up with Jay. He doesn't really put anyone on.

  7. I'd have 2 say no 2 Jigga man.  Besides Wackis Bleek, I mean Memph Bleek & Beanie, who else has Jay put on.  Tru Lyfe was rydin wit'em 4 how many years & u see he hasn't dropped nuthin & U cain't say Kanye, because Dame was the one that really put him on & once he was "ON" & made a name 4 himself, that's when Jigga started rockin wit'em.

Whether u hate him or not u still gotta give Diddy, Puff, or whatever his name is now props 4 bein a smart business man.  Whatever the game is missin, he tries 2 find that act to fill in.  We already  know that he will never find another BIGGIE or a ryder like Shyne, so he doesn't even really look for one MC that'll stand out from the rest.  He jumped on the Souf band wagon & signed Ball & JG & Joc.  They made him millions, & boom, they were dropped.  He had 112, they left, so what he do, Sign g*y 26, I mean Day 26.  50 sings better then Cassie, but since she's a pretty face, she ain't goin no where.  He keepin Danity because their only competition is the p***y Cat Dolls & he signed Donny Klang, because Jon B fell off (even though he's making a comeback) & the game needs another white R&B act to go along with Alan Thicke 4 the younger crowd.

So 2 answer ya question, Jigga, h**l 2 da naw & yes 4 Diddy.

    Take that, take that.    LMAO
