  1. he already is. look at his win-loss totals.

  2. I disagree.  I think that he'll be a steady work horse and a very good player but probably not a true Ace.

And so what if he's already thrown a no-no?  Many "aces" never have (Roger Clemens never did, nor has Pedro, nor has Curt).  In fact, most have not.

As a die hard Sox fan - I hope I am wrong though.  I hope that Lester does materialize into a genuine ace.

EDIT: For everyone who is saying that he is already an "ace" do you even know what the traditional definition really is?

The "Ace" is the #1 starter.  He can't be #2 and be "The Ace".

  3. He has great control and stamina so yes he will. He also lets nothing bother him

  4. He is already the most reliable starter on the Red Sox staff.

  5. Already is a ace

  6. He's already had a no-hitter, so he could very well be in the near future

  7. no I don' t think he will be an Ace but he will be / is becoming a very very solid #2.  Aces usually have egos or bad attitides or are star struck and I can't see Lester being "that guy"...

... Very very very very solid #2

  8. He pretty much is now, maybe not so much since Daiske came back but next year he'll be an ace and for years to come.

  9. i think he's already the ace of the red sox staff, if you ask me...he has been the best pitcher on that team this year, he has great stuff and is going to be one of the best lefthanded pitchers the game has seen since randy johnson, i am thoroughly convinced

  10. Yes.

I believe he'll be moving up to the #2 spot behind Beckett in the playoffs this year, which is a start, but he'll probably have to play elsewhere to be a #1.
