Do you think Joseph Matheny who wrote the Ong's Hat vortex book is a shady huckster?

Well I would have a hard time believing in a book that talks about vortexes. My problem is, that so far, the only people who can tell us about these vortexes are Psychics and Mediums. I cannot prove or disprove anything these people report because there is absolutelt no way to weigh the evidence they give. I am neither, but I could walk into a house or a field for that matter and say, right here, there is a vortex and the spirits are entering this doorway at will. Now prove me wrong. Outside of the fact I have already said I am not psychic or medium! nothing personal to those who are psychic or are mediums here, but I am making an example of how this all looks. Unless you show someone something they can wrap themselves around, its pretty hard to prove anything.Easy to write a book, but hard to prove its worth.

I thought the whole Ong's Hat project wasn't a hoax so much as a deliberate joke.  That's what I have been able to gather on it.
