  1. no it will just turn the whole thing into a freak show, i cant see the victims been to pleased with the offender looking at there handy work the next day :)

  2. TOUGH!! measures?.......what good are any! measures going to do when labour are allowing people to flood into this country who!! use knifes and guns on a daily basis. children from Africa who have killed before their tenth birthday and are well accustomed to it are now dangerous young men who dont fear any thing!....organised Russian gangs....human slavery, dangerous Islamic nutters and their entire hate fuelled family's. hundreds of thousands of illegals with nothing to lose who can leave as suddenly and as quietly as they came in.......labour has turned our country into a killing field. and the opposition parties have done nothing to prevent it. the media (in particular the BBC) cover up the fact that 80% of all the violence is from immigrants, but very quickly show (as if relieved) any thing that involves a white British born person. the only way to punnish people who use knives or guns is to imprisom them in a propper prison environment for a long long time. and you wont see an end to the violence untill we do that! in conjunction with closing our borders and scrapping PC and re writing the human rights act.

  3. It may help in a small minority of cases but having worked with offenders, I can tell you that most of them will have no compassion at all, especially the drug users.  I like the idea of some form of boot camp for them.

  4. just legalize handguns, KNIFE AGAINST HANDGUN who will win

  5. Excellent idea,

they might even consider extending it:-- show a safe cracker the inside of a vault or a Ram raider the workings of a scrap yard

    I feel safer already

  6. No effect whatsoever. These people and their advisers live in cloud cuckoo land and should try an occasional visit to the real world.

  7. It will have no effect at all, other than may be stressing the patients out.

If I got stabbed the last thing I would want to see is some thug who was carrying a knife.

  8. I think that the Government is way off base on this, they should be handing out punishment, not day trips......Bring back the Birch,a couple dozen lashes will soon make them think twice about carrying or using a knife, the more damage you do the more lashes you get, oh! and make it a public flogging

  9. What they should be doing is give the right back to parents to administer their own laws in their own homes. Different kids need different treatment, and who knows better than the parents, let them wield the punishment stick and then you will see a sharp downfall in violent crime. PS. Jacqui Smith's handling of the situation is a joke.

  10. No effect whatsoever, this just another gimmick. The problem is just going to go on and on and on and Labour will just bring out more and more useless measures to disguise their utter incompetence.

We need zero tolerance now, anyone caught with a knife should face jail immediately.

  11. Until our nation wakes up and realises that a 'civilised ' society does not mean an indulgent society, we are going to keep going downhill as far as crime, civil order and morality is concerned. Labour's plan will come to naught, so will the plans of the other parties that have bought into the human rights mantra. We castigate countries that do not show leniency to criminals, but admire their low crime rate.

Crime and criminals must be punished with the full force of society's wrath, and not pampered and treated with kid gloves. Until we are prepared to execute violent, unrepentent, callous killers, they will continue to put up 2 fingers at society. We all know that crime pays in the sense that very often the punishment is very much less costly compared to the gains. Defrauding the welfare system, for instance, will only result in a few dozen hours of community service. Murderers get away with 6-12 years. In prison, except for their incarceration, they get better conditions such as better food, warmth, entertainment, free TV, gym membership, free distance learning courses, OU, library, dental care, priority medical treatment, etc. Try getting a NHS dentist outside!  The church even comes to you when you are in there. No wonder one ex-convict asked to go back in, and he was not alone.

  12. wow now that's really taking it too far!!

I mean it's one thing to slap them on the wrist and waggle your finger in their face, but to make them go to hospital and visit victims?! That's a breach of human rights if I ever heard of one! The sentencing is just far too tough on these poor youths. All they wanna do is carry a knife and dish out the odd stab wound, but we just cant leave them alone, can we?

in case you're REALLY gullible, here's a puddle of sarcasm that's been dripping off my answer

  13. Like h**l it will. The b---ards will enjoy the film and want to emulate it. The answer has to be tackled at it's root and that is the family. time after time our beloved and wise politiciaans have undermined the family and the authority of parents teachers and all who have a responsibility for young folk. We are now seeing the results. These so called scemes are yet another attempt to look as though the government is doing something when in fact it is doing nothing. We have to forget the emotional cries that they are declaring war on this or that type of family. people know what is right and what is not right and have to be backed when they are in the right. Ie a little thug swearing at a teacher aand getting a clip over the ear for it should not have any right to take anyone to court for assault and the public authorities should back the teacher, I can go on aand on about this

  14. I think Gordon Brown is shitting himself trying to fill Tonies shoes, what is the legal age to sell knivesto people in Britain? I think its 16 in Australia, I think thats to young!

  15. usually labours plans for anything end up being useless

  16. None whatsoever - if a person cares so little for the life of other human beings that s/he'll stab them to death, what on earth makes the government think they'll care if they see people wounded?

Yet another namby-pamby, wishy-washy, softly softly approach from this gutless government. There is only one way of dealing with this - if you are convincted of carrying a knife, you go to jail.

If there are not enough jails, let's turn all those abandoned hospitals into more prisons, as Lindo Robson suggested after the murder of Ben Kinsella. We had a HUGE abandoned hospital down the road, and they've just demolished it to build - guess what - more unaffordable flats.

  17. That plan is so Labour, and probably having the same effect as all their plans. They just slap on law after law, initiative after initiative and think they can run it all from above, and then it has the effects nobody wishes to see, the reverse effect of what was originally intended. So, Labour are messing up, again... no surprise.

  18. No dont think so

  19. i did hear that plan b is  to send them to bed with no supper. good old new labour tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime.

  20. of coarse it wont work. do politicians have no commonsense at all?!?! if i got stabbed, the last person i would want at visiting time would be the person that put me in there!!! if they carry a knife then 9 times out of 10 they are prepared to use it, so they have got to step up there stop and search efforts in a big way. every large group should be searched and any 1 that looks suspicious. there should be armed police on the beat aswell. pcso's are a waste of time, they should all be retrained as police officers so they can actually do something. i know this would cost a lot of money but if i even just stops 1 person getting killed than it is worth it.

the other big thing is giving parents back the right to discipline there own children, this would make kids think about what they are doing. my dad never hit me but he could scare the **** out of me when i was younger and this stopped me from doing nasty things

  21. nope. Cos the point for many is to invoke terror on someone all you do is show them that hey your method works. what u need is hard *** laws that deliver true punishment

  22. No!What may appear workable in the eyes of people such as University professors and so called 'do gooders' in reality have no chance at all!To be honest!I do not believe the Home Secreatary has much idea how to tackle the knife problem!Probably taking a leaf out of he bosses book Gordon Brown!

She is pandering to the ethnic minorities again with a 'softly, softly, approach!Where tough measures and jail sentences are needed!

  23. What plan? They have no idea what to do.
