The entire IPL is about entertainment and local boy is always

going to be a favorite - Having said that captaining t20 side

has very little to do as the game plan is done well ahead of time

with all senior players and think tank. They go by plan A to B to

C and make changes as they go. Laxman in the past has led

Hyderabad and South Zone in matches. Why do you think that

he is not a suitable captain? Any player of his caliber with being

a local is of more interest for the local fans and hence he is

made the captain.

Ok about his presence in 20/20 format - he can score runs at

a brisk pace so can Dravid. But for our vision, they look to be

not suited for this sort of game. They suit decently well for a

20/20 game. Now let us discuss what all a t20 player needs -

good batting, excellent fielding and/or excellent bowling.

But given the rules set by IPL - hardly less than 25% of players in the entire IPL fall into this category. The remaining

do not even fit the T20 format. Have you seen how pathetic

some of the fielders were - mostly Indians....At this professional, there is no way that the ball can go between

your legs at the boundary....that is what we are seeing. If

these are allowed to be played, of course in that sense Laxman and Dravid are superior fielders, but not good enough to be in an international T20 match.

No way! Laxman's nature and style of batting are really not suited for the 20-20 format. He should make way for Gibbs!! Gilchrist should captain the side.

I am really shocked at the manner in which the Chargers have been losing their games. They have not played with their hearts in any of the 3 games thus far. It appears that individual players have no idea of the role and expectations from them, for which the captain should take responsiblity.

I really hope Laxman sits out most (if not all) of the subsequent matches... for the good of the team, the game and the fans of Deccan Chargers and IPL.

Test cricket and Laxman? Mind blowing mix.

T20 cricket and Laxman? Very bad mix.

Laxman captaining DC? Absolutely distateful

Gibbs sitting in dugout and Laxman in field? They have their drinks (mind) mixed up!!!

I even doubt whether Laxman deserve a place in the T20 team leave alone captaincy.  Adam Gilchrist should have been the captain of Hyderabad Deccan.

He has lost his touch in batting and he is not a very sharp person either. He just lost a recent match because he made Andrew Symmonds do the last over and Shane Ware just kicked his ***
