  1. they made Babe I'm Gonna Leave You there own, the original was good but Zeps was epic

  2. How dare you ask questions like that? You should be ashamed of yourself. Led Zeppelin was and still is the heart and soul of rock n roll.

  3. Led Zep is one of the greatest bands in the world....but yes they are guilty of borrowing a lil from here and there. One of the best examples is this one...(scroll near the bottom )

  4. No, I don't. Look how many albums they sold and how they still are going strong today. That says it all.

  5. um, no I dont think that

  6. Frankly I'm sick to My guts of this whole controversy. So Zep ripped off a couple of blues songs

    BIG F#@%KING DEAL

    WOOP DE DOO

The didn't rip off "Kashir" or "Carouselambra" or "Achilles Last Stand" and there are NOT 5 BANDS IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF ROCK that could pull off those masterpieces....certainly People's precious Who or Beatles couldn't have.

All the People that keep on whining and whining about Led Zeppelin would just need to S-T-F-U.

This was not directed at You Naked on the Floor.

  7. Shame on you!  Led Zeppelin set the standard for true greatness in rock!

  8. they stole like 3 songs (of what i know) they had a good 50 hits i can name about 40 off the top of my head when im walkin down the street so...

  9. Led Zeppelin is one of the best. Who cares if they did cover songs. The Grateful Dead did a lot too.

  10. Yes, I agree; shame on you. They are definitely not a cover band. They were one of the best bands from the 70's.

  11. Led Zeppelin was a classic rock band that changed the future of rock. A few of the songs that they played were covers, but they did an amazing job of them, much better than the originals in my opinion. But they did write a lot more songs than they did covers of, and their songs are fantastic. Their skill is amazing, and Led Zeppelin will forever be known as one of the best bands in the classic rock genre.

  12. No, they did have original songs.

And even if they are just a cover band they were probably the greatest cover band ever.

  13. I agree with you.  I think they are Still one of the Greatest bands, ever.

They did cover a handful of Blues and Folk songs -- but then the Entire British Invasion that sprouted John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, etc. - covered American Blues songs - but bringing a "new" flavor to them.

Beyond, whatever Zeppelin covered - at least 90 % of their relatively brief career -  was inventing a Fusion of Folk, Metal, & Blues into a Unique Blend - In fact -- I think they are they're in the Own GENRE.

Because, I've yet to hear any other band that remotely Sounds like them - except for those who Cover Led Zeppelin :)

    EDIT --

"meggus31" - with all due respect -- If you read the entire Question -- "naked on the floor" IS Defending LZ...

  14. what stupid, nameless hoo-hoo fed you this drivel?

let's get this straight...zeppelin ripped off a couple songs without providing adequate credit on led zeppelin II, everyone who knows a little something about the history of the band is fully aware of this, they were sued multiple times, those cases were settled, and credit was given on further album pressings...and yet, they are still considered by many to be the greatest rock band of all time...so even if they were just a cover band(and they're not), no one would care because they would be one d**n good cover band

  15. Whatever they covered, they covered it well and got a lot of respect for it. Every musician gets their ideas from somewhere...

  16. :O

Led Zeppelin are pioneers, legends, icons, etc..etc..

  17. How could that be? They just sampled some licks, no big deal. Some of my other favorite musicians do it all the time. Led Zeppelin has so many other original songs anyway.
