The thing I was thinking was if standard liege get a fluky away goal in the second leg, liverpool would have to score at least 2.

  1. Liverpool drawed with Standard Liege 0-0 in the first leg and chances are that Standard Liege will lose their concentration in the second leg.

  2. no problem, lfc will destroy them at anfield.

  3. Yes without a doubt the will by about 2 or 3 goals as Torres and Keane will be out to prove a point after both players specially torres got the rough treatment from liege in the 1st leg of what was expected from the Belgium's in there home stadium were never going to have it easy.

  4. liverpool will defo win the 2nd leg. the return leg being at home is a big plus and i have no doubt that we'll beat liege.

  5. Personally, if I were the ref, I'd have gave the "goal"... even thought it was against the opposition.

Its like the was it wasn't it of England v Germany in the 66 final, we got given, the decider, in these advanced days of sports broadcasting and of technological acheivement in the past 42 years I'd have thought UEFA, FIFA and the FA would have learnt their lesson of the necessity to have a camera on the goal line - I'm not for replays every 30 seconds like they do in Rugby League but  do think they should play on and await the fourth official's judgement.

I was hoping for a 2-1 victory on the night and anything so long as its a win at 2nd leg, I guess I'm hoping for a win and hope Rafa has given his squad a good ol' tongue lashing. I can only record once where I distincly remember hearing the crowd, either that was my lack of attention or it was the lack of entusiasm of the crowd. Anyway, Gerrard should be fit enough to whoop Sunderland's asses at this evening's at the Stadium of Light (only just found out its on Setanta, along with England's match with Croatia at Wembley - the latter of which I'm furious at ITV/BBC/Sky for not getting the live rights to it - highlights from ITV will be as c**p as Steve McClaren's skills of management).

Oh well enough of my ranting - I've still got the "joy" of listening to "regular" updates from 5 Live, it frustrates me watching SS1 - aload of Jeff Stelling's clowns jumping up and down looking at screens with headphones on describing what's just happened - thanks to UEFA's "blocked hours of broadcasting".

Hopefully they'll have improved [drastically] for the 2nd leg (ITV at 20:00-22:10 on Wed 27th)

  6. Lets hope not and did someone help you work out they need to score 2 if the other team scores or did you struggle yourself to get the answer?
