Like there used to be pankration. And it used to be on the Olympics. It's not much different MMA. So why not make it Olympic. Take IFL rules.

  1. yes i do!

  2. that would be cool, maybe they should add a few more rules, like no hitting the head no hitting below the belt,... etc.

  3. Would you want to get knocked out for your country?  I love my country, but I think I would have to pass on that.

  4. Yes..but fighters would get suspensions after each fight to heal and that would take too long. And to have alternates isnt really having your BEST fighters.

  5. No it shouldn't, and for some very valid reasons. An olympic sort has to have a governing body, and with all the ego's and money involved i can't see any body giving up their little bit of control.

then you have to have a set of standardized rules. you also have to have world championships and then Olympic Qualifiers. How much do you think a human body can take?

Keep in mind there are other sports that have been waiting a lot longer to be admited also, with a far bigger following then MMA. Yes it is gaining in popularity, but still has a fraction of the following of other sports.

so no i do not think a sport that is relativly 15-20 years old as an organized sport should take precedence over some sports that have been waiting that long to be admited, no matter how much you like it.

  6. You should submit this somewhere along with the pankration reference also. I love MMA and never thought of the idea of it being in the Olympics. Great idea, I think it should, and I would defintly watch it, and I think it would advertise MMA alot more also.

  7. as much as i like it, no. there should be no sport with mma as olympic. i think its too varied, and it dosent really fit in with the olympic mood. í like the olympics a lot, and this is my preference, but no it shuldnt.

  8. No.

  9. Yes.

  10. no, the rules would have to be watered down even farther for it ever to be considered.

im a huge boxing fan, but i dont care for olympic boxing at all with the strange rules, scoring system, headgear and whatnot

i love the idea, but im afraid when it was all said and done it would look nothing like the MMA we have grown to love.

  11. Yes, it would be great seeing fighters compete from every nation. It definitely would be a learning experience from all the different styles in the world.

  12. No? Keyword: was

Why do you think pankration is no longer part of it hmmm?

Besides its stupid, it would be the most violent sport in the olyimpic.

  13. I dont think so, but then again, there alot of "sports" that shouldn't be in the olympics, like curling. Hey, if curling got in, then just about anything can get into they olympics. Pretty soon haot dog eating will be an olympic event
