Do you think Mark Priestley's death will alert people to the dangers of depression?

I just heard that Mark Priestley, Dan from All Saints, just took his own life - http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/entertainment/4970599/all-saints-star-dead

Apparently he was suffering from depression. Do you think it'll alert people to seek help if they have depression?

In a way! I think that when things like this happen it slowly takes a part of the stigma from people's eyes! But It takes a while! Depression is certainly less stigmatised then 10 years ago! Bit by bit that all it takes! I hope it affects people for the better!  According to ABS Suicide was ranked 15th  in the top causes of death in Australia in 2006. Thats nearly 2000 people  for that year! That's huge and unnecessary!  Imagine the positive impact that 2000 people can have on the world! Something has too be done

i know someone whos depressed but they wont seek medical help,,, the way they see it is there is no help,, thats what they told me

i worry about depression so much,,, if i was depressed id definately seek help, but alot are too deep in it they start to beleive no one can help them xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

**I certainly hope that it does make people realise that people in walks of life can suffer from depression and that sometimes the battle is just too much for them to go through.

Apparently in the last 10 years there has been a 30% drop in people taking their life as a result of depression so other high profile stars probably have made a bit of a difference and made people more aware of the disease.

I just hope Mark has now found some form of peace from the h**l that he was obviously going through.**

It is such a TRAGIC thing for his life to be taken so early

Our family is mourned we dont know him except off the TV show

No.  Heath Ledger of Batman committed suicide.  Kurt Cobain of Nirvana committed suicide.
