  1. Marquez wasn't robbed....He was loved by the canvas a 4th time.

For Marquez to win that match, he had to KD Pacman. But he doesn't have what it takes to do that. He knows that now after 24 rounds.

He never dominated Pacman coz he just absorb the best that Marquez can give. Marquez almost got knocked out again had he not been saved by the bell once again.

You cannot say you dominated the fights when you were floored a good 4x and you never go to send the other guy to the canvas.

JMM was never a true champion he was just an impostor and now the true champion takes back what is rightfully his.

There is nothing more to prove at 130lbs for Pacman. He has dominated this weight class already.

Next job is to move up at 135lbs and unify the lightweight division. If he does, which is highly possible, he will be a champion of 5 weight classes and become a legend.

  2. No. If we would've seen a Marquez like he fought from Rd 2-11 on their 1st fight, I'd swing it over to Marquez. But we didn't see as good of a technician as he was back in May 2004.

Pacquiao didn't get a TKO, but didn't do bad either...he didn't get sloppy as he did on their first bout. And he didn't get hit as much as their first bout..at least hard hits.

He also left a lot of shots for Marquez to take...which Marquez didn't take advantage of. Behind Pacquiao's strength, which is his flurries with big lefts, is his biggest weakness. Leaving himself open with his arms down.

I think a draw would've been more feasable...but to say Marquez won...i don't think so.

I would honestly love to see a 3rd fight, but that's only possible if Marquez moves up to 135....which he should, but probably won't. Pacquiao should've moved up to 135 after his last fight with Barrera, but stayed in 130 to take on Marquez. I guess to him, he has to prove that he IS the better fighter. Which he didn't really acomplish tonight, in my books. But he still got the win.

The only way to settle this would be a 3rd fight at 135.

  3. YES, I'm obviously not the only one. lol  funny how yahoo sports, two commentators from ESPN, Larry Merchant and the Associated Press all saw the fight in favor of Marquez but EVERY filipino didnt see the same fight. If Pacman doesnt win the fight though, who is going to pay to see either fighter's next fight? its the way the sport is. It's sad that a great fighter like Marquez has to go home with a draw and a loss because of the way things just are in the world of boxing today. SOME filipinos need to have more class and admit defeat. Nine out of Ten mexicans will admit that the Chavez/Whitaker draw should have really been a loss for Chavez. You can steal/win a title belt, but not class.

  4. MARQUEZ WAS ROBBED! THATS WHY THE CROWD BOOED!  The AP had it 115-112 Marquez, Yahoo Sports had it 115-112 Marquez.  Manny hasnt beaten him neither time.  Look at Manny's face!  How come he wont fight him a 3rd time?

  5. please recall, in the first fight, pacman was obviously robbed of the win..JMM had the fight due to technical miscalculation... and this second fight, it was very close, but Pacman had the power punches. there were booes because majority of the crowd were mexicano...

in this case, the marketability of the boxer indeed becomes the factor, in close fight... go Pacman,, the mexican killer... but the way he fights, he might have problems with david diaz, because Diaz clearly packs more dynamite than JMM...

  6. I think Marquez won 114-113, unlike most people I actually score the fight round by round.

Manny knows he lost, you can read it in his body language (compare it to other fights he wins)

It's a sad reality of this sport, Pacquiao is more marketable than Marquez...

Overall it was a good fight, however I think Marquez/Vazquez a two weeks ago was a better fight

  7. I am a big fan of Pacman and I thought he'd beat JMM no probs as JMM is getting on a bit and Pac has good stamina but in truth I was shocked to see JMM comfortably win then get robbed. Pac is the younger, more marketable fighter and it makes financial sense to gift him the result but its a shame than a true great like JMM has to suffer at the hands of corrupt officials (its not as though we havnt seen corruption in boxing many times before though.....is it?)

Great night of boxing with an unfortunate bad taste left in the mouth at the end due to a blatant robbery

  8. Pacquiao won and that's it. We all have our own expectations and pet for bet...but that's why there are judges in competitions or in any sports fights. Whether we like their decision or not, theirs is what prevails not our opinion or not our choices/expectations.

They are both good fighters but Manny won. His victory is legitimate.

Next time you question judges decision go and be the judge...seems like you think you are better than them.  Or you can just call commentators in sports show to do the judging.

  9. yeah it worth the money...you cant take it away from marquez but if youre watching the fight pacquiao is the greater boxer...i think the knock down made it a win for pacquiao...fight of the year...good job for both fighters

  10. No.

It makes me laugh when others cries in defeat. The crowd booed because most of them are Mexican fans. Can't you see the logic? I am a Filipino but I can see clearly who really won and its Manny. The deciding factor was the 3rd round knockdown, too bad its in the closing stages of that round, else we won't be having this conversation.

If you don't like the sport, then don't watch it. Why would they hire judges if they are NOT wise to make decisions. They are at ringside, watching every boxer's move.
