Question:

Do you think McCain's VP running mate Sarah Palin is a Nascar Fan?

The reason I ask this is that the big news in the past couple of days is about her 17 year old daughter who is pregnant. The daughter's name

is Bristol. To me, only a die hard Nascar fan would name their daughter

after a Nascar track.

But, then, maybe I am wrong. Other than the Tennesse City of Bristol

and the Nascar Bristol track,, does Bristol have another meaning that

she and her husband could have been thinking of?

  1. She could LOVE Sportscenter which is based in Bristol, CT but I doubt it.

  2. None of them really like NASCAR they just think if they come to the race and act like they care then we'll vote for them.

  3. I doubt they watch NASCAR up there in Alaska.

  4. Maybe it's a misspelling of "bristle," because she rubs me the wrong way.

  5. That is funny.  Every time I hear a name that is associated with Nascar I think they named them after a Nascar track or driver.  I never think to see if they have another meaning.

That would be cool if she was a Nascar fan.  If I were a reporter, I would ask her just for you.

  6. Maybe, but I heard she named Bristol from someplace else, not the track.

But if she is a NASCAR fan, then great!

  7. No, not really. I think Bristol is an odd name for a kid.

  8. Considering she has a 4 month old baby, a child with Down's Syndrome, a pregnant daughter, with 5 kids total and no household staff in the Governor's Mansion....I doubt she has time.  It would be great if she is.  I like the name Bristol.

    *MOJO*

  9. Bristol, Palin's oldest daughter, 17, means "meeting place by the bridge," according to thinkbabynames.com. Bristol is Old English and is the name of an important town in England, which many US cities were named after as well. It has not ranked in the top 1000 baby names in the US in the last 100 years. Bristol Bay is where Todd Palin grew up and fishes.*

All of the Palin children have names that are a little unusual.  But she could still be a NASCAR fan.  If she isn't one, she ought to be.  :  )

  10. Either way, they have my vote!!!  I found it very interesting that her name is "Bristol".  A friend of mine has a pet named Bristol and yep it's after the track.  Go 88 and go McCain/Palin!!!

  11. bristol is the name of the track, but its more so the name of the city and the track got its name from the city and just because her name is Bristol does not mean she got it from racing...there are several other cities called bristol as well.....

so if i name my child charlotte will anyone think i got it from the track too? or racing for that matter
