I think it was smart on McCains part, but dumb for the hillary female fans who really would vote for him solely on the fact that vp is a woman. They would be letting there emotions get the best of them and completely be forgetting about the issues. On top of that, they would be going against their own values if they were democrats and automatically switch parties just because the vp is a woman

  1. yes--the common definition is "pandering". Blatantly obvious and insulting to women, in my humble opinion. (i mean, if i were a woman, i'd be pissed, too)

  2. no it was for her foreign policy and economic experience….lol of coarse he trying to pander to the Hillary vote…won’t work though.

  3. I think there are few reasons why he picked her. She is conservative, she is pro-life, she has more experience than Obama, and finally, the Republicans will be able to claim that they put the first woman in the White House, even if it is as V.P.  Remember, using emotion to choose who to vote for is owned by the liberal voter. Obama's speech last night should show reasonable people country wide what kind of change he has in mind. His version of change undercuts every ideal that made the U.S. the greatest nation in the history of man. His "vision" for the country will destroy the economy, weaken the U.S., both militarily, and in it's standing with other countries. Obama is a Marxist, and nobody can say otherwise now, as his words and deeds speak for themselves.

  4. Do you think Osama picked Uncle Joe to get the White voter

  5. She voted to have creationism taught in schools. She has an ethics investigation with a mere two years in office, She is anti-abortion. She was voted Miss Congeniality… and 16 years ago she was serving on the Wasilla City Council, population 8,471. Yeah I can see how Hilary voters would jump right on board with that. She is TOTALLY qualified to run the country. Maybe she can have a bake sale to get rid of our 9.5 Trillion dollar deficit. This is about oil. Drilling in Alaska, It’s about distracting Republicans about the tolls of the War in Iraq and garnering support by focusing on hot button issues like abortion as opposed to getting out of Iraq and addressing the unemployment and mortgage crisis.

    Go OBIDEN

  6. No - Palin is a Great choice (of any s*x) and she will make a Wonderful VP (and future President)! It just goes to show that McCain is a true maverick & genius who picks likewise!

    Palin:

    * has the record of the most beloved Governor in the US by her state (Alaska)

    * is a vocal, huge proponent of American energy independence & Alaskan drilling

    * has actually been leading people for the past several years, while Obama & Biden have been leading NO one!

    * shelved her state's pork-laden Bridge to Nowhere that McCain has ridiculed on the trail

    * will join McCain in fighting hard against earmarks

    * is about as far outside the Beltway as you can get

    * ran on the agenda of stopping wasteful gov't spending

    * is the mother of 5 kids!

    * has had her son deploy to Iraq

    * is for a strong US defense

    * is an ice fisherman

    * is a moose hunter

    * is a small business owner and a lifetime NRA member

    All in all, she's a truly fine leader, citizen and patriot - who truly represents Americana (Motherhood & Apple pie)!

    McCain/Palin '08

    Peace

  7. It was an excellent choice.  She's a female...adds a minority to the ticket.  She is younger...balances the age issue.  She's a conservative...balances his moderateness.  This is by far his best decision of the campaign to date.
