Personally I don't care for Obama OR McCain, but I just wanted to see what other people thought about it.

  1. Yes, I think it ruined his chances of becoming president, but not "just based on his running mate" but the implications of that choice.

    1) He's showing that he really thinks that Hillary supporters will go for him just because there's a woman on the ticket.  That is very insulting to Hillary supporters and he's underestimating them.

    2) He's showing really really poor judgement in choosing to put this woman a heartbeat away from the presidency.  It's not just that she's inexperienced, but worse, she's not a good governor and under investigation for corruption.  She's a poor communicator in working out issues and has left the Alaska legislature frustrated and furious at her lack of knowledge and skills.

  2. Of course he had ruined it.  It is funny he had made his final VP decision after Obama.

  3. Obviously, yes.

While Obama still has to run full charge at McCain at every opportunity....I think McCain's choice just handed Obama the margin he needed to win this thing....and then some.

  4. Not at all.  I think it is a great choice.  Palin will steal Obama's freshness, she is the real mccoy.

  5. No he hit a home run, Grand Slam!  It will be McCain/Palin in the White House for sure!

  6. Yes because now all the racist and sexist people won't vote at all.

  7. Ruined his chances?

He just chose a running mate who has taken on corruption in all levels of her state's government -- including in her own party.

Unlike Obama, she doesn't just pay lip service to "not just politics as usual" -- she actually LIVES by it!

McCain just chose a running mate who, as governor of Alaska, oversaw a state budget surplus -- and then gave the money back to the taxpayers!

He just chose a running mate who, as mayor of her hometown, gave HERSELF a pay cut.

He just chose a running mate who has more real-world business experience than Obama, Biden, and himself combined.

He just chose a running mate who has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time -- even while managing a marriage and a family, including a son who's in the Army and another child who has Down Syndrome.

Ruined his chances?    h**l, I would vote for this woman for PRESIDENT, never mind vice president!

    .

  8. No.  Obama ruined his chance when he refused to have Hillary as his VP.  They would have been undefeatable.

  9. Listen....do you hear anyone talking about the Dem convention.  No.  The buzz is about McCain's vp.  He has now locked up his win for the election.   ***

  10. No he increased the odds of him doing so by 2-1 at least

  11. It was just a ploy to get Obama to admit that experience matters.  Though Obama was too smart to fall for the trap, virtually every one of his minions fell for it and are now saying that experience counts.

  12. No, just the opposite. Women have been waiting....well, forever. Palin seems qualified and dignified. I love her conservative views and the fact that she is raising a Downs child (who's a cutie, BTW) proves she is pro-life, which means she'll take the South.

    It's a win. You'll see...

  13. No, She looks cool, 5 kids with 1 husband, traditional, can relate to the rest of the population from working class to high society

  14. Majorly, this was a huge blunder on his part.  Not only does she bring nothing to the ticket, but he also angered a lot of Hillary supporters into voting for Obama.

  15. Nope, I think he helped them.

  16. I said it before, but this time I will mean it: He doesn't have a snowball's chance in h**l.

  17. No way. She's bringing conservatives and libertarians back to McCain and has the most executive experience out all 4 candidates on the presidential tickets.  She's the commander in chief of one of the largest and most active national guards in the country, has been to Iraq like Obama and oversaw bringing Russian and Canadian business to Alaska. When you compare her record with Obama's she is acrtually more qualified.  Why the h**l did the Democrats pass Hillary over? And then put a guy on the change ticket who's been a partisan politician since being elected to the senate at age 29. McCain should now change his campaign slogan to Change we can believe in.

  18. It's impossible to say how the public will react. Sarah Palin has always been raised as a candidate, but no one thought that McCain would risk so much with on a candidate with such little experience.

    ------------

It is very important to understand that it doesn't matter if Sarah Palin plays out in Hollywood or New York city. She doesn't have to appeal to the 18 million women who voted for Hillary. She just has to appeal to people in middle America. McCain has to win:

    Ohio

    Nevada

    Colorado

    Florida

    Missouri

    Virginia

All of these states voted for Bush both times. So there were enough people in these state's who were pleased with Bush's first term. With Sarah's one son going to Iraq, combined with her decision not to abort a baby who had Down's syndrome may have a great appeal to voters in these states. It doesn't matter if people in New York thinks that it's a political gimmick.

  19. GAWD, I hope so

  20. I will bet he lost most of the womens vote. Even if you were a women who voted for McCain. This cheap sexist political stunt is a shot through the chest!

  21. Let's examine this. Obama states he is the candidate for change and the old political ways are done, right? Then he actually chooses a Washington insider who's been in the U.S. Senate for 29 years! Next, he attacks a war hero, in fact spending at least 1/3 rd of his acceptance speech bashing John McCain.

John McCain runs an ad congratulating Barak Obama. Then he chooses a woman who kicked butt on her OWN PARTY regarding cronyism, ethics, and corruption. She cuts taxes, increases state revenues, refunds the $$$ to the tax payers, and delivers a $40,000,000,000.00 natural Gas Pipeline in 18 months the Dems & Repub's couldn't deliver in 18 YEARS. She has 5 kids, a husband whose a stud (4 time Iron Dog Champ) and has more executive experience than the Democratic choice for President.

Are you afraid of the truth or is it just inconvenient?

  22. I haven't followed the election pretty much at all, but from what I heard McCain had said something about where women belonged... or something to that effect, doesn't that mean he is just having a female running mate in order to gain back the voters he might have lost with sexist remarks? seems like only people not following the race would fall for that. but like i said its all hearsay, I might not have all the facts. sorry if i'm wrong

  23. no way she is exactly what he needed do not take her for granted she is brilliant
