He compete two or three times a day and still win gold and break records!! I mean come on, is he a superman or what? I know there are some drugs that's hard to detect by a blood test, so do u think he's on something? Remember Marion jones who was stripped of all of her medals after admitting taking drugs ! she was tested negative at the time of the olympics years ago, but we found out about it recently!

  1. NO. how many times do we have to tell you people???

    HE IS NOT ON STEROIDS!

    He is talented and gifted.

and they test the swimmers and all the athletes before they compete!

    jelous much?

  2. noo

    he's not sperman

    lol :)))

    but remember

    he practices 4 hours everyday

    no matterwhat

and he also goes to the gym and lifts weights :)

    and the eats

    ALOT

so its not normal for him to be really good :)

and plus.....when he was little, his swim coach even told his mom that her son was very talented

    :)

  3. NO he is not hes just naturally a good swimmer when he was eight his coach said he was ganna be a Olympic gold winner and steroids would not make him that much faster

  4. Phelps is no idiot. He wouldn't take steroids. He's just a super athlete who started devoting every minute of his life towards the Olympics at age 11, and has been working at it ever since.

  5. yep. sadly whenever someone exeeds normal limits it does raise a few questions.

and perhaps they have a new drug that is currently not detected by todays methods...only time will tell.

  6. I think he's doing it naturally.

    the man is just amazing.

  7. Hahaha, my boyfriend decided the same thing last night while watching him swim. He must have some super-dooper wonder drug that can't be detected or something. Either that or he's just a really good swimmer, but that's not nearly as fun to believe :)

  8. HE IS NOT ON STEROIDS! he is just the kinda of person that has the stamina and determination to continue through out races beacuse it is what he wants and he is obviously willing to go to any extent to get the gold :] GO MICHAEL<3!

  9. No steroids.  I just think he is a super athlete and swimmer.   He is in excellent condition and you will find that when he is getting ready for meets, all he does is train.

  10. only during the off season

  11. No, I think he is just an amazing athlete.  He is very driven, and he practices for 5 hours a day in the pool.  His entire life is devoted to his sport, so of course he's amazing.

  12. get over it!!... They get tested after each swim........He is a good swimmer and deserves EVERY MEDAL...  STOP HATING!!

  13. i was wondering the same thing he's really fast it just seems unnatural but he tested negative for and drugs so he must really be that fast hope that helps

  14. Nah, he just trains way harder.  Plus he's really young, his muscles are fresh.

  15. hes CRAZY i know

but i dont think hes on drugs

if he was they wouldve found out alreddy

  16. i would say no because i swim and I'm pretty good and i just work really hard at practice and love it so much. so i think that if you love something enough than you can do anything

  17. I believe he's on drugs.

Some new types of drugs are widely used!

So many records have been broken in Beijing swiming pool by so many atheletes!

    It is absoltely abnormal   !!!!

  18. the guy has trained for 8 hours a day for four years.  he eats tons of protein and carbs for energy and has incredible legs.

    give the guy a break.

  19. Shut up and give the man some credit.Stop hating.

  20. No! Michael Phelps is not on steroids! He is in very very good health and is in tip top shape. He doesn't spend a lot of time playing x box or whatever they call them things today.

  21. Phelps is NOT on steroids, drugs or Super human pills.  He is just a regular guy who is living his dream.  Ever seen someone win a Poker tournament?? You could ask the same Q about Lance Armstrong or Nolan Ryan. truth is, Michael Phelps has trained his whole life for this, he "Eats, Sleeps and Swims" according to the Olympic committee and he's just experiencing an Acceptional time in his Life. Sounds like you're a little jealous..........

  22. I don't think he's on roids. He's an awesome athlete! I've seen pics of him underwater carrying a huge rock and "running" underwater, not really running coz you can't but you know what I mean.

If that is part of his everyday practice routine then come on..... He's just amazing! You can't deny it.

  23. Did you ever ask about whether or not Mark Spitz was on steroids or anything else? Keep in mind Spitz was the one who SET those world records that Phelps is breaking. Did it ever occur to you that Phelps is only 23, but over time his body will need to stop and yes, the next summer Olympics may be his last? Did it ever occur to you that there are natural ways to combine food, supplements, exercise, and rest in order to compete to the fullest? Many of these things are simple and even high schoolers who have a competition the next day know how to do simple things to be at their best.

Since the investigation done on former olympians began, there have been numerous ways for investigators to go back and see records of anything suspicious. There was a guy who got into trouble because he left a paper trail of purchasing drugs. You don't even need to leave a paper trail anymore or even get tested in order to get caught because there are other things that show up either in your body or elsewhere that brand you.

Maybe it's high time that we show a little faith in our competitors who are obviously trying to make up for the embarrassments we have faced as a country with olympians cheating, giving pathetic performances (think basketball team last summer olympics), and having poor sportsmanship.

  24. the records are going in every race man 16 have gone so far!

as for phelps being on roids, i dont know he did break world records at 15 and if he was on them back then he'd surely have some of the symptoms like acne and the beginnings of male patern baldness and other problems! however we will never know maybe he is on a synthetic drug but if he is on it cant alot of others be on it?

maybe he is just a great swimmer. he is from what ive heard extremely driven

  25. Anybody who counts on dope tests after the event to weed out the cheaters is only fooling himself.modern doping is so sophisticated and advanced that the cheaters will always be 2 steps ahead.there is no way a human body can take the punishment of day after day of excruciating torture.literally thats what it is.i can relate to this phenomena from my days as a competitive body builder.i can remember trying to emulate the 'freaks' in bodybuilding magazines and wondering why i could never grown like them inspite of training and eating exactly like them.,and mind you,i wasnt the only one!! i can remember being overtrained and being sore all the time.for those who dont know what overtraining is like...its like this...youre sore, tired, restless, sleepless and sometimes constipated!! (its true).that was untill i laid my eyes on a book by an international bodybuilding star who clearly described the steroid cycles he was on and that information was never published in the body building magazines like Muscle and fitness,Flex etc (but I can understand that they had their own commercial intrests at stake with trying to make bodybuilding a olympic sport ,selling supplements etc).later as time went by,the really big guys in my gym opened up and confided that theyd been on steroids for ever.Since then Ive seen innumerable documentaries on nat geo and discovery and read enough on the net that everybody in top level physical sports is on steroids. And dont give me the argument that Mark spitz did it too in 1975 so somehow he was clean. The Finnish great, Pavo Nurmi, probably took abanbolic steroids & won many Olympic medals for his country in the 1920s. Apparently, he drank what he later described as 'tonics'. Yet, his achievements are still recognized & those medals have never been taken away. While improved health, nutrition and training can and do improve the abilities and performance levels in a general population, those who truly excel in modern day competition are possibly also gifted with a physical and physiological advantage to start with. Better facilities and nurturing helps to bring out this advantage.

Doping first started with the use of synthetic hormones called steroids that help build muscle mass. It soon spread to include other drugs specific to the demands of a particular sport. It included drugs that help eliminate tremors in disciplines like archery and shooting, drugs that help loose water to reduce weight suddenly in disciplines like weightlifting, etc. Testing for such substances was introduced in the 1972 Munich Olympics. Since then its been an even game – as testing techniques have developed drug cheats try to stay a step ahead by introducing drugs that are more and more difficult to detect because they mimic the effects of naturally occurring hormones. The huge problem of doping has put a major question mark on a number of records that are being set today.

So the next time you see records tumble...think again...the human body does have its limits. That doesnt mean that Phelp's competitors arent doing them..they are,but phelps has stumbled upon or discovered  a substance which the others havent and hence he's one up on them. Then there is that theory about how Lance armstrong developed testicular cancer in the first place and how his body recovered almost miraculously from it.Testicular atrophy is one of the major symptoms of steroid abuse and ape like appearance of facial features, overgrown fingers, palms, hands, feet, ears etc are classical symptoms of Human growth hormone abuse. And as for the argument that his coach spotted his talent at age 14 or 15,remember arnold schwarzenegger admitting that he started on steroids at age 15!! Its not possible to swim 5 hours a day and not overtrain on monitored and legal nutrition.

  26. Michael Phelps exhibits NONE of the physical manifestations o steroid use. Nature gave him the perfect body for swimming and he has developed the swimmer's mindset of competing against his own numbers.

The tests are much more sophisticated today which is how Marion got  caught recently after retesting.

There is NO way Michael is on steroids!

  27. Its such a shame that just because he is doing so well it is assumed that he is a drug cheat. Did any one consider that maybe he is just a fantastic athlete?

Granted, no one knows for certain but give him the benefit of the doubt because he at least deserves that.

  28. He is one of the few athletes who voluntarily undergo extra tests. His blood is going to be stored for many years to come for future tests.  I guess, the Americans want to avoid another Marion Jones/Gregg Landis debacle.

  29. You, my friend, have a VERY interesting theory that we might not ever know. Because with Marion Jones, she wasn't classified as much of a "hero" as Michael Phelps, so she would at least be inspected a little bit more, or more likeley to confess, because she wasnt AS on top of the world as michael phelps. I could be talking gibberish, or you could be talking gibberish, or we could be both making absolute sense, but its some theory you have thought up there.

  30. No! No! No! He is not on steroids because, he is a amazing swimmer. He devoted his whole life to getting gold metals and guess what? He is going to have 14 of them, and he deserves it! GO PHELPS! IM A PHELPS PHAN! :D :D :D

By the way.. Michael Phelps isn't Marion Jones, JEALOUS!

  31. all he really does is "eat, sleep, swim", not just during the olympics but throughout everyday life, theyve said it many times already. not to mention he practices everyday for many hours and his arm length is 6'7", 3 inches longer than his body height
