I think he should retire on top. What else does he have to prove? He could be like Brett Farve

  1. depends on him--if he can do it then great!

  2. Favre is playing again.

If Phelps wants to compete outside the Olympics - cool. I don't know what else he has to prove though, unless he just wants to have an ungodly amount of gold medals. I think he said he wanted to be the first Michael Phelps.

  3. He's only 23 years old, and he can keep furthering his medals in the next Olympics.

Also, if he loves swimming and loves doing what he does, then there's nothing wrong with him continuing to do so.

He doesn't strike me as the drama queen type like Favre. Favre needs to get off the estrogen and get some testosterone back. He was seriously acting like a whiny little *****. Sure, he's a great quarterback, but I didn't really see Montana, Elway and Warner pitching fits like he does. The diva needs to calm down.

Sorry about the rant. Anyway, like I said, Phelps is doing good. If he wants to continue doing what he loves to do, then more power to him.

  4. Yeah i think he should be he sasid he doesnt like to lose but tis mostly about him improving his times soo and it will be a good chance for everyone in england to actually see michael phepls swim it will be gr8 im planning on seeing him in 2012 hopefully

  5. YES!!!!!!!!!!!! i luv seeing him listen to his ipod b4 swimming!!!!!

  6. Well, in my personal opinion, I think he should. He's really an amazing swimmer. He's only 23 years old. The next Olympics, he'll be 27 years old. I'm just really afraid that at that age, he might slow down. Not that I'm saying he's not fit, he's very good. Just, at that age, I don't find it that convincing.

But then again, Michael Phelps can prove us all that everything is possible. Plus, I think I heard it somewhere that Phelps said Olympics 2012 in London will be his last. If I'm not mistaken, he wants to beat the 18 medal record set by some gymnast. I can't remember her name.

Anyways, back to the question. Yes, Michael Phelps should swim in 2012. He's a very good swimmer.

  7. In one of his interviews he said 2012 would be his last olympics. I mean i don't think he does it for the money, he loves what he does and loves to swim. He will definitely be back. And he doesn't have to prove anything lol. What else is there for him to win.

  8. I don't know how to tell you this, but...Brett Favre came back....

  9. In the interviews with Phelps recently, it sounds like he would like to come back for another olympics. He can still compete just fine at 27, though they have said that he will likely drop events like the 400IM. He has said that he doesn't want to be swimming past age 30 though.

  10. I don't see why he would...he is getting an estimated 40 million in endorsements...i think i'd be all set with that
