He said the last time Darlington was paved, there were wrecks almost every other lap.

So do you think we will see more cautions in this race?

  1. Mikey needs to stick what he knows best..........

and with any track that gets a new surface, yes there will be more cautions than usual.

    GO JR #88

  2. I think we will. Especially with Kyle Busch and the way he races. He will probably wreck everyone!!!

  3. They don't call this track to tough to tame for nothing ya know..Somehow I just can't see 43 cars going 200 mpm on this track...Goodyear..I hope you brought the right tires, cause if not OMG, let the tire complaints begin.. I'm sure we will see cautions, how many??? The Lady in Black will keep us all guessing, I guess it depends on how nice she is tomorrow.. These cars are different than the old car, thank god they are safer, gonna be some beating and banging, and lots of Darlington stripes will be awarded I'm sure..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  4. The higher speeds will be something the drivers are not used to there.  I think there will definitely be more cautions than we usually have at Darlington and that different pit strategies will not play as much of a factor as they have in the past.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  5. I don't know.  There are wrecks and cautions every race.  People making stupid mistakes tires going down you name it so we will see it ought to be an interesting race.  I am off work at 4 so will be home in time.

  6. I don't think anyone knows what Darlington will bring.

I fear the worst however, as when we went to Charlotte the first time since it was repaved.....

    It was a total nightmare.

Look for anyone to win this weekend, but it will also be one who can grasp it as fast as possible.

  7. Mikey needs to take into account that these are different cars. The cars today  are tighter and when loose they seem to straighten up better than the older cars. With that said No. Mikey's statement doesn't mean a thing about the upcoming race.

The main thing is does Goodyear have the right tire compound for the new surface?

  8. Probably not the scenario. The combination of the new pavement and the design of the COT will probably work in unison and their should be a more powerful display of competition.

  9. yes i do think come on over 200 MPH thats crazy and since ur going so fast ur bound to hit the wall and some one will spin out causing a caution

    IT WILL BE CAUTION CITY

  10. I think we'll see alot of cautions but hopefully their not intentional this weekend.

  11. Most definitely i was watching practice today and they already had a bunch of cars in the wall

  12. this is coming from a driver who got caught cheating in the 2007 speedweeks

but who knows whats going to happen we will have an idea after tomarrow nights race

  13. LMAO !!!

  14. there will be because it's Darlington and there are a lot of idiots in the field. As for Mikey, he will no doubt be wrecking until he does someone else in, despite the fact he's driven Darlington since the stone age and ought to know by now what he's doing.

  15. mickey who or you talken bout that has been

  16. If he's racing we will. all he can do is wreck. for as long as he has been driving he just isn't any good.

  17. Maybe not more, but definitely a lot.

  18. That's what the drivers think and I don't care, as long as my driver doesn't wreck. Enjoy the race!

  19. I could be wrong, but isn't there concrete in the turns?

If so, comparing Charlotte (the repaving fiasco that occured last year) isn't comprable to Darlington.

Also, the charlotte race had all the drivers complaining about Goodyears tire selection.

If Mikey is right is is by pure luck.

My bet is there won't be but 2 or 3 more cautions then usual

  20. Darlington seems like a short track to be running 200+ mph

We can all see Dale sr. or Petty put their self in a position and let the front runners take each other out,,then drive home

this kind of race is seldom won by the fastest car,but by the smartest driver.

But I'd say Mikey is probably right..

  21. Anytime the resurface a track its always a challenge to the driverss, teams and Goodyear. In the test they had there they were hitting 200mph going into the corners. For th eperson that doesnt believe that go to Darlingstons webpage and look it up. It Happened. Its going to be fun!

  22. Enough with the Mikey bashing. Love him or hate him, this guy is no idiot. Anytime a track gets paved there are usually problems in the race. 200 mph at Darlington seems like overkill. I think there will be an abnormal amount of bent sheet metal, but I hope I'm wrong.
