I do not believe in the Mothman. Notice she went out looking for it. Well, my guess would be that she lied as a kid, told the lie so many times that it almost seems real. Have her and her brother pass a polygraph and I will consider taking their story seriously.

That video was very awful, and the way it depicted the information (specifically the way it depicted the Mothman -- as a bad Halloween costume) makes the story sound very ludicrous.  You should check it out on the web (or in the numerous books written on the subject) to find out a realistic view of them -- not as guys in crazy costumes with glowing eyes.

In answer to your question, yes, it is possible they are aliens.  In fact, this has been a very popular theory.  They have also been claimed to be spirits of some kind or even a Garuda (from Hinduism and Buddhism).  There have been arguments that they were just birds that people got hysterical about or just hallucinations, but I tend to support the idea of them as spirits.

That movie with Richard Gere in the Mothman Prophecies recounts this story.  I don't know what to think.  Her story sounds fake, but when you listen to her details it lends more credence to it.  Like her brother picked up chunks of coal to throw at it.  Why didn't she just say rocks?  And her brother getting out of the car makes me wonder...hmmm, who would be that stupid?!!  Her description of the creature sounds like the sightings of the Mexico version of the chupacabras.  (the goat sucker)  There are definitely some strange things out there.

It is possible but it could have been an over sized bat. I do remember many many years ago reading a book about UFOs, Mothman, an Indian curse and a bridge collapse but I can't recall the name of the book.

While it is highly unlikely to be anything supernatural or connected with UFOs, it is not unusual to find large versions of animals just like we have so many shapes and sizes in humans. It could have been a large owl or eagle. Who knows until one is actually captured.

Yep he showed up around the time of ufo sightings.  Maybe he got out of their zoo.

I honestly think the mothman is an experiment gone wrong or something that accidently got free from his "cage"
