Do you think New York sports fans are loud, rude, and obnoxious?

I'm a New York sports fan and I'm not any of those things but I keep hearing that people think this way about most New York fans outside of the New York area........Is this how you think?

Be honest, so don't be afraid to tell me that you do think this way and it's ok to insult me, i don't care

I'm a fan of the Mets, Jets, Knicks, and Rangers

I think Philly has the worst reputation, never been, just have read about it. As far as going to Shea, I scream, I boo, I cheer. My worst fear is having the fair weather, stupid accent Long Islander sitting near me, who only knows David Wright, and the rest of the game, is more worried about if they want a hot dog or an ice cream. Those j**s are loud and obnoxious, however, not at Shea.

I don't completely think so. I'm from Southern NH, but am a HUGE Yankees fan. I can't speak for the other 3 major sports, but as far as baseball goes, they can definitely be loud (not always a bad thing...think playoffs). I really don't think they are rude and obnoxious. I mean, Red Sox fans will sarcastically mention that the "Sox are winning 2-0" if they see a guy wearing a Yankees cap in the same room. Now that's rude. Haha.

ive been to a lot of stadiums, including yankee stadium and fenway, and they dont compare to how obnoxious the fans are at wrigley.

There plenty of sports fan like that including rays, red sox, yankees,  white sox,  twins,  etc...

So yes they are. There are also some good fans in with yankees its just hard to see them.

Us New Yorkers are rude and obnoxious (says all the prejudice people who stereotype new yorkers). But the only obnoxious sports fans i've seen in NY are yankee fans. ive been to Yankee stadium with an orioles shirt and hat (cause im a mets fan rooting against the yankees) and i bumped into to someone and they said sorry, looked at me for a second and said "no im not". not even joking. no smile or nothing. he was totally serious. Yankee Stadium, you actually have to have fear for your safety.

Shea stadium fans arent that bad. there are a few but most shea fans are more laid back than at yankee stadium. But the Phillies...... ohmygod they are THE WORST.

No. I'm a New York sports fan (Yankees, Jets, Knicks, Rangers) as well and I really don't think so. Well, the loud part is right, but the rude and obnoxious thing is a mean stereotype pushed by non-New Yorkers so they can feel better than their own fan bases. Simply put, somebody met one or two New York fans who are a little louder or intense than they were and they got upset about it.

I've seen obnoxious Mets fans, I've seen obnoxious Yankees fans, but I've also seen obnoxious Orioles and Red Sox fans. Seriously.

So again, your answer is no.

It's very much evident here in Los Angeles.   Alot of transplanted New Yorkers still rooting for their teams even though they don't see much of them here. The same goes with Boston.  This was even before Torre or Manny ever came to LA.  Next time I go to New York, I'll get back at them by wearing an LA Dodgers or Lakers cap in THEIR subway trains.

So to answer your question New Yorker: YES!!!!!!!

It's called a generalization. Most are but some aren't. Actually many many many are very loud, rude, and obnoxious as you said. But yes, they have way more obnoxious sports fans than anywhere else(excluding LA of course, but that's another story)

It's just a bad stereotype.  My dad is from new jersey so we go to new york all the time.  Yes they can be loud, rude, and obnoxious, but usually only when they're drunk.  Plus fans are supposed to be that!  there supposed to show their spirit for their team.  Trust me it's the same down here at LA.
