Do you think Norwegian girls are pretty, (that you've seen)?

I'm Norwegian, i was just wondering cause the country doesn't seem very popular, when you mention it people say "what?" or laugh, and they laugh at my mom's name, Astrid.

I'm glad i don't have a Scandanavian name like that, or Agnis/Agnus

some are, some are less so. But how do they think about life and society? Isn't that more to the point? How do they treat others? Do they have a social conscience and act on righting the wrongs they see, or just look at themselves in the mirror and think about their own situations?

If your friends laugh at Norway or the name "Astrid" then you should either educate them about Norway's finer points, or get new friends.

Lol. I'm betting more than half the people who answered this have never seen true Norwegians. Probably only ''norwegian descent'' girls. Sure there are some pretty girls. But there are also some not so pretty ones. Just like everything other country.

I think that the reason people say ''what?'' is because 1) most Norwegians don't care about being a popular country and 2) other people (non-Norwegians) aren't educated about Norway.

Most people (particularly Americans) dont know a single fact about Norway.

Norwegian girls are very very pretty.

However, because of the reclusive nature towards outsiders, they're known (in Europe and in the US) for being snobbish and a bit stuck up.

You might be running into that. But the vast majority of people I know agree that Norwegians have a advantage in beauty.

They look like any other White Nordic people, so they don't really stand out or have any distinct qualities.

The people are beautiful and so is Norway but it is too expensive.

I am not Norwegian but have been to Norway a couple of times and my impression was that the women were taller and thinner than American women overall.  They seemed to have clear even light skin (possibly due to less sunlight?).  I thought they looked lovely and my husband thought they were gorgeous.    We enjoyed mountainous, alpine environment, small towns, fresh shrimp sold at the docks....just writing this makes me want to go back.  However, the airfare, hotels (even the meekest hotels), food and travel were very expensive.  The temperature was chilly.   I suppose that the expense and competition (the fact that there are so many interesting places to go) may put Norway down the list of vacation destinations.

I love the name Astrid - beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or the ear of the hearer).
