Like I don't think Tyson or De La Hoya fought in the Olympics. Everything seems to be Pay per views for that kind of fighters.

  1. its based on hit and not be hit both are the same in that way..

its fast and not as much power as you look to score points but if you get the chance for a ko then yeah .

Pro boxing if you have a bad round you get to start the next 10-10 but in the Olympics if you was 7 points down then the next round starts your still 7 down.as its a diffrant ball game as they are learning there trade then

if there are good they well may turn pro if they can but some are not aloud.

there are loads of boxers who was at the Olympics that are legends but there every 4 years so you could be 18 years old or 20 years old and there is one place in your weight class so may not go or get picked for the games so at that age do you wait 4 years till the next one or turn pro? You turn pro as you may get ill or hurt and its a long time  4 years a very  long time and its a date a one off and anything can happen in them 4 years even a day before so it can be a waste of time    . so most will go pro.

JOE CALZAGHE He seem to fight that way in throwing loads of shots

and its worked out for him as not a lot of power as thats why he can do it for 12 rds...but when he needs power there a bit there to use as he not been looking for that big shot and not brunt out looking for it.

  2. Tyson fought in the Olympics when he was 15.

Professional, paid, fighting is more lucrative, therefore, more competitive.
