I think he has no choice. At first i said no way he fights Margarito but the public is really starting to clown him and lose respect for him since he's talking about fighting Pacquiao instead of Margarito. I think he'll be FORCED to fight Margarito or his legacy will take a major hit!

What do you think?

  1. i hope so dude margarito is amazing

  2. There are a lot of Oscar haters out there, which I think is mostly around jealously around his success out of the ring.  Oscar had a great career and always sought tough fights.   Unlike Mayweather who was very selective and minimized his risks.  Look at Oscar's list of opponents and it is impressive.  With that said, I don't think Oscar ever quite got to his potential.  He had some fights when he was younger where he was a great boxing/puncher.  Has he matured he seemed to get stiffer and stiffer.  He was still a great fighter, and I enjoyed watching his career.  Unfortunately, like a lot of athletes, Oscar keeps trying to compete when he should retire.  Both of these match ups are bad for Oscar.  Pacquio is to small and win or loose will not have a positive effect on Oscar's legacy.  I can not see him beating Margarito.  If Oscar took the Margarito fight, it might be the first fight where Oscar actually takes a beating.  Margarito is a bad match up for most fighters at this weight with the exception of Clottey and Williams.

  3. Oscar legacy is already set. Just like people are forcing on him to fight Rito, they want to see Rito fight Williams II. Rito is trying to ge a big pay day because he dont bring money. Williams is calling him out and asking for a rematch. I thought it was suppose to be the other guy asking for that. Money wasn't a issue for Rito, why is it now? He deserve a big pay day and other fighter do to. What make him different from other fighter? He haven't said a word about Willians, since he beat the h**l out of Cotto. Oscar has made it clear, he's not going to fight Rito, I wonder what part he doesn't understand. The next bid pay day besides Oscar is Williams. Rito is not in a rush for that deal.

  4. These are the scenarios.

#1. Oscar and Pacman meet as expected. Oscar wins by either KO or decision. Oscar's legacy damaged.

#2. Pacman stuns Oscar and pulls off the upset. Oscar's legacy in ruins.

#3. Oscar balls up and faces Margarito. They battle for 12 rounds in an epic classic. Oscar loses a decision or gets TKO'd late in a heroic last stand. Oscar retires as a badass who went out like a warrior, no shame in that.

#4. In Oscar's swan song, he pulls off a stunning win in an all out war with the TJ Tornado. Oscar's legacy cemented for future generation of fight fans.

If it is respect and legacy Oscar is concerned with, it seems pretty clear. If it is money, then we'll see Oscar vs. Pacquiao in the Fall.

  5. because margarito actually goes in and fights while de la hoya jabs 2x and runs he just wants money

  6. carlos said it all

  7. Mr Breeze,

Oscar is what, 10,12 years outta his prime? Oscar by all purposes is a washed up fighter. The biggest weapon Oscar has is his Hollywood smile. Boxing is a business, it's always been about the $$$$$. As bad as Oscar has become, he would still steamroll over "Little Manny" in less than eight rounds if that fight were ever to come about, but if he ever were to fight Margarito at least we'll know where the stuttering and walking on his heels came from.

Oscar I write to you my good man should have no legacy. He's never really fought a in his Prime fighter aside from Mayweather and look my friend how he was outboxed and out gutted in that bout. Julio Cesar Chavez OLD, Pernell Whitaker OLD, Genero Hernandez, Hopkins OLD OLD, OLD, OLD.

Oscar not even in the top 100 fighters of all time.

  8. hey cool...i think you answerd one of my Q's earlier.....oscars legacy is already set in stone, it has been, it was even before he got ko'd by hopkins 4 years ago......oscar should fight margarito, but he'll make a c**p load, way more to fight pac man than margarito......can you blame him?
