Do you think PETA has gone a bit too far?

Although I am soymilk's biggest fan I really don't like milk nearly as much as I used to, I think this is WAAAYY over the top.

And note the third paragraph. I wasn't pleased with that. Why not just say the percentage of Americans that are lactose intolerant.

This is nuts in my opinion. Peta has the most unrealistic goals! Instead of making the whole world vegan which I never happen, I don't get why they don't focus on more realistic goals like more human methods of raising and killing dairy and food cows.

Do you agree or disagree and what do you think about the link I posted?

  1. Of course. The only consistent thing about PETA is lying, misinformation and extremism.

PETA may have been a legitimate animal rights group at one point. Now, they are just another radical group whose activities and leadership have outshadowed their supposed goals. People know PETA for their anrtics. But most don't even realize what PETA is supposed all about. Example: they are known for parading models, celebrities, women (exploitation?) in public. After seeing the leaf wearing or totally naked women in public, people ask, "What do they want again? Is that a fashion show?" Benifitting aninmals? What do you think?

  2. peta alwayes goes too far as much as i am an animal activist and supporter of nature i do not and will not ever be a active member/supporter of peta because they seem like extremist and take serious issues over the edge and basically mock them and get off base with things and totally s***w up the original idea of helping.

  3. What a joke. I bet if you check PETAs books it cost them $1.5M to send that letter....LOL.

I disagree with PETAs letter. PETAs will be rubuffed and will look foolish once again.

  4. I think PETA causes actual vegetarians and vegans to be looked on in the same way they are: as over-zealous individuals bent on converting the world to a non-meat eating world. I can't blame PETA for all the flak we "veggies" get but it certainly doesn't help when they consistently put out adverts and Public announcements like they do. And I also believe it takes strongly away from the actual problem, millions of animals dying in horrendous ways while the average person knows nothing about it. Instead of simply stating the facts about meat-industrys, egg/milk factories and fur farms, it becomes "oh, PETA is doing yet another stunt" and it's shut out.

  5. PETA went too far years ago.

Edit: Wow it looks like someone went and got all of their PETA friends on here to give us all thumbs downs.  OH NOES, NOT THAT.  MAYBE I SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOW SO THAT THEY DON'T FIND WHERE I LIVE AND FIREBOMB MY HOUSE AND POUR BLOOD ON ME!!!

  6. no

Lebron should know hat he promotes, milk is gross (blood & puss) , cruel, & bad for the enviroment.

  7. PETA's platform is that animals are not ours.  Not to eat, not to wear, not for entertainment.  So, given that, I think that they are in line with their mission statement.

Love them or hate them, they're consistent, commited, and informed.

  8. You raise a worthy point about the 3rd paragraph.

Apart from that, I see nothing wrong with their request.

  9. At this point, I think they are doing more harm, than good.

  10. Anyone ever notice how many PETA thumbs down trolls there are. People who support PETA need to do their homework. This organization goes to far and gives v/vs a bad rep with the general public.

  11. I agree. Why not work on making it more humane, rather than settle for insulting us all. Milk IS healthy for us--and a good thing. There are tons of people who ARENT going to quit drinking it, so they should fix the process.

  12. PETA always goes too far. The core of the organization is bunch of hateful people; they hate people and they hate animals.

Most PETA supports have **no idea** what the organization is really about.  They see the "save the animals" and "we love animal" facade and start supporting PETA.  Little do they know that PETA's agenda is the **extinction** of domestic animals.

I believe in animal welfare, not animal rights.

animal welfare = treat animals humanely

animal rights = extinction of domestic animals

    .

  13. Yes they have.

    That n**i and Holocuast thing,

    it really went TOOO far.

But what I don't think goes too far is when they send a private investigator to farms to see the abuse those poor animals take.

    I can't watch those,

but I know it helps the defenseless even I cry afterwards..

  14. They've always been too radical. They force their ideas onto people and create a negative stereotype for vegetarians and vegans.

  15. They have gone way too far (long ago).

I'd also like to know who and how much they pay to sit around and think up this c**p.

  16. No they are not informed. They mislead people into thinking they are above and beyond. They've broken countless laws costing taxpayers lots of money when they destroy stuff. They were caught a few years ago staging some kind of chicken slaughter thing. Turned out they were the ones doing the slaughtering and filming it saying it was a national poultry company. When they were caught, they said it was to expose the plight of the chicken. Pot calling the kettle black really.

Hunters spend far more and do far more for the enviroment than PETA could ever think about. We spend BILLIONS, not hundreds of millions, but BILLIONS in fees and taxes that go to support wildlife and the enviroment. I dont think PETA or their famous frontlines people will ever spend that kind of money to help out as much as hunters do. Animals need to be managed do avoid over population. No, nature does not manage in a humane method. Natures way is disease. Hunters ensure the population through limits on hunting of each animal. Therefore helping the younger animals grow to build stronger, better genetic lines. The older mature animals are harvested allowing the younger stronger ones to excel and spread their genes.
