  1. I would just give Manny Pacquiao a puncher's chance and I'm not feeling too high about that chance since Diaz has felt power from naturally bigger men his entire career. Diaz will not be a pushover and he is probably already thinking that he refuses to let some junior flyweight starter come into his division, that he has been at his whole career and beat him. That was Roy Jones' thinking of Trinidad.

  2. Anything can happen in the boxing ring. But to answer your question, NO.

The lightweight division will be a whole new world for Pacman.

  3. Yes, pacquiao has a good chance of beating and knocking out david diaz, I've watched how diaz fight morales and in the first round with just a right counter hook from morales, diaz knocked down so what if a stronger puncher like pacquiao will hit diaz a well placed punch then diaz probably will be knocked out. And diaz during his fight with montano, it seems that he is slow and he swings really wide that will allow manny to read his moves and land a lot of punches with his handspeed. but of course because considering this fight will be diaz's fight of his life and it is his ticket to fame then i for sure diaz will be 120% ready in the fight night that will make him harder to beat. We should expect that Diaz team already has a plan also to defeat the hand speed of the pacman and how to slow him down so manny should break down his defense first and go for the kill. I think the difference in speed will be the best advantage for pacman in this fight carrying pacman's devastating power and pacman is a two handed fighter now which means that any of his hand can knocked out an opponent and that would be a problem for diaz. And Manny has a lot of experience for a big fight unlike diaz his big fights are only morales and sta. cruz and sometimes i think a little bit of nervous will affect the performance of diaz in the fight.

  4. If cotto and Margarito werent fighting this summer pacguiao and diaz would be the fight of the year there styles(both very active and overly aggressive) makes for a great fight and i cant wait. I like diaz in a decision with a couple of knockdowns from each

  5. Height & Reach - David Diaz may have longer arms according to Boxrec but he certainly doesn't fight tall. Then again, neither does Pacquiao. The important thing is that both guys love to counter-punch. Pacquiao especially likes to absorb a few of his opponent's shots before saying, "my turn" and throwing back his own. In most cases, two inches would make a bigger difference but today it wouldn't. Both guys are the same height so the advantage is none. - EVEN

Size - Diaz fought the bigger guys. No doubt about it. He fought as high as 147 and has been competing at 140 pounds for several fights. However Pacquiao has fought the far better guys at featherweight. There's a saying that goes "a good big guy beats a great little guy" and I think that's true. While Pacquiao's boxing skills may not seem great, he certainly didn't get that far with just power alone. Unless Pacquiao conserves his energy properly and shoots clean hard punches, Diaz will absorb them all. It's also important to note that Diaz has always been the bigger guy. Diaz actually beat Zab Judah twice in the amateurs. Of course that was many years ago but it's still important to know your opponent. Diaz may have gone down several times but he can still take a great punch. +1 Diaz

Power - Pacquiao's got knockout power. Diaz may be bigger but Pacquiao still has more snap because he's got more speed. Not only that but I can see Pacquiao's punches surprising Diaz more often than the other way around. You could say that Diaz has more power because he's bigger but I just don't think that's true. Pacquiao over-commits on so many of his punches that you can't ignore the power. +1 Pacquiao

Chin - Don't be fooled. Pacquiao has taken many MANY perfect hard shots but has survived every single one. Pacquiao has yet to be knocked down ever since he's matured and stepped into boxing's spotlight. Diaz however is especially prone to getting countered and being swept off his feet every now and then. To Diaz's credit, he's always gotten up. +1 Pacquiao

Common Opponent - This is the biggest telltale sign of the winning prediction. Erik Morales. Pacquiao finished this guy and made him quit. Diaz took Morales on at the tail end of his career and barely won the fight. I actually had Morales winning by one point because of the knockdown. Let's compare apples to apples. Pacquiao was still standing after taking devastating punches from Morales and even managed to knock Morales down and out. Diaz on the other hand couldn't knockout the old Morales and even went down from a single Morales punch. You could argue that Morales was recharged and better against Diaz since he didn't have to lose as much weight but either way I'm scoring this +2 Pacquiao

Age - Pacquiao is quite possibly still in his prime mentally and physically while Diaz could be considered old at 32. 32 years old is ancient for a lightweight mind you. The big thing that I'm noticing is that Diaz is a very classy guy and a very serious fighter. He is very professional in his interviews and I can only imagine that his training will be the same. He's always come prepared to fight and I trust that he will have prepared well for the fight of his life. I can't see him winning but I can certainly see him making this a difficult fight for Pacquiao by using his size and natural weight advantage to bounce Pacquiao's punches away. Pacquiao has been partying lately so I'll make this - EVEN

Speed - A big plus for Pacquiao. I think both fighters have similar styles except Pacquiao is faster and better at counter-punching since he's faster. It's a huge plus for Pacquiao. Diaz is prone to getting hit by punches he can't see. +2 Pacquiao

Experience - Look at Pacquiao's list of opponents and compare them to David's Diaz's opponents. Enough said +2 Pacquiao

Heart - Diaz has the bigger heart but it won't matter tonight. The fight will be one-sided with the loser accepting defeat. Both fighters are at the end of their fight game it seems. - EVEN

Style - Diaz knows how to jab but doesn't use it a lot. He loves to lunge in a lot and fast fighters will find his head easily. Diaz also doesn't move his head too much except for leaning it straight in. Another minus is that Diaz loves to chase his opponents down. We've seen Pacquiao lose many exchanges before only to land a hard counter punch. He did this against Morales and also against Marquez. I can't help but feel that it will only happen more against Diaz since that's all Diaz knows how to do. Diaz always gets caught easily when he's lunging in and Pacquiao is not the fighter to let you finish your combination! Pacquiao's weaknesses are boxers with the counter-punching style, a great jab, and a great chin. Diaz either doesn't have or doesn't use any of those. +2 Pacquiao

  7. I say Pacman will KO Diaz before the 7th round... He will be the first asian boxer to win 4 weight divisions..

  8. If a smaller marquez was able to rock him. I think Diaz will hurt and Ko pacman.

  9. He better, he is almost a 4-1 favorite to beat him!

  10. Pacquiao will surprise everyone who doubts him
