I personally would prefer to have William as our King. If that had charles then they would have to issue free Toby jugs in celebration.

  1. Yes;unless he dies before his mother,he will be king. I have been following the royals for many, many years(over 30) and it has always been believed that Charles would have a short reign. His reign will pave the way for William;Charles is expected to start some modernizations and William in expected to continue with them,to keep the monarchy relevant, perhaps reinstating some powers to make it more relevant.

And to some posters: divorce is a non-issue. Camilla automatically will become Queen Consort when Charles is crowned.

And as to having a mistress as a reason to disqualify him: absurd! If you were to read history of many monarchs, you'd find out that mistresses are quite common. Why,Edward VI had many:society ladies known as "Professional Beauties" like Lady Dudley,Patsy Cornwallis West,Lillie Langtry, the actress Sarah Bernhardt, and the infamous Alice Keppel. If you knew your history, you'd know why Mrs. Keppel is "infamous."

  2. Shouldn't the Queen have some sympathy for her eldest son and let him be King for however short period it may be? It seems the Queen is not so affectionate to Charles. During childhood he was perhaps much more loved?

  3. Put it this way, the Queen's 82, looking as fit as ever and her mother was over 100 when she died. Charlie was born in 1948 so he's no youngster already.  He is heir apparent, the divorce makes no difference, but happens when the time comes - who knows?

In a way I feel sorry for poor old Wingnut, he's never been able to carve out a proper career, having always to be waiting in the wings.  It'll be the same for William too.

  4. I sure hope so , he has earned it !

  5. How long can she go on for?  Another five years?  Her ability to attend state functions etc. musy now be limited.  Charles would be a great King but after such a long delay and the fact that Camilla has never been totally accepted, means that William will probably be next.  After all, in another five years, Charles will be 65 and William will be 31.

Charles MIGHT get away with as much as 20 years in the job but I rather think he would prefer to give his son the opportunity.  After all, Charles IS a humble man.

  6. The longer the Queen hangs in there, the less likely it is. There's not much point in crowning him if six months later it's Billies turn.

It's an expensive event and with the current stretching of our military the Royal Guard will consist of Sea Cadets, T.A. and Dam Buster Veterans Association.

Camilla can't be Queen and Bill has a girlfriend of some description. If he marries her the odds of him being next king will be greatly shortened as Charlie will be obliged to step aside to continue the succession, (Camilla has finished baby making).

  7. yes, i'm sure the Queen will die eventually.

i don't see how the divorce affects it, after all British royalty was the first divorce ever (Henry VIII) so why wouldn't they let current British royalty get divorced?

  8. well nahhh

  9. The only way he wont be is if he dies before The Queen does. Then it would pass automatically to William.

  10. Yes, unless he dies before the Queen which is quite unlikely.

  11. Well if he does those enormious lugs will stop the crown falling off his head.

  12. He's thick enough

  13. No. He will not be allowed because of the divorce from Diana. His oldest son will be the one next in line.

  14. Even in the event of Her Majesty's demise, the heir presumptive is indeed Harry, because Charles is a divorced man.(What that has to do with it,I'm not sure, but it's always been the case)making William the heir to the throne while Harry, poor dear, hasn't got a shot in h**l,barring his brother's death

  15. Yes I think he will. When the queen abdacates or dies.

  16. The Queen has to die or retire at some point, unless he dies before her, but i doubt that

  17. One day he will be King, because, he has a humble nature about himself and the throne will be given to him when he least expects it.

  18. Charles doesn't deserve it, he was an adulterer so shouldn't be protector of the faith or whatever they say of the king.

He "earned" the right to be king by being the firstborn of the current queen, nothing else gives him any "rights" to the throne.

Bring on the Republic. He will NEVER be king of me!

He should step aside in favour of his son. He has done huge damage to the monarchy and everyone is supposed to forget about it. So far William hasn't done too much harm.
