  1. To Mashal,

sorry , there are still someone who stay long in first place than ROGER FEDERER...

  2. Not sure.... Its impossible to predict that? Is Roger ever gonna win the French? Nadal might dominate for 4years or maybe not but if anything he can win and get a career grandslam :) ! What more does he want ?! lol A singles Gold medal and all the grandslams, who cares if he`s only #1 for 3months but still wins everything at #2 lol then again if he was winning everything at #2 he would be #1 hahahaha All im saying as even when Rafa was #2 he was sooo close to getting the #1 he has achieved remarkable results being the #2 in the world. Give the guy a break, he`s earned his #1 spot place and now lets see how he does with it.

  3. (Oh no SORRY for the error! I din know! Thanks Djoker! :D)

Roger dominated the game for four straight years, and he's still an incredible player but I think he's had his time being the "best player in the world".

Rafa has more competition from Djokovic, not Federer. Djokovic's young like him, and their matches are full of energy and rallies. Federer can't get to points as fast as he used to. Djokovic will overtake Federer as the world number two first, and then give Nadal a run for his money.

Right now, Nadal DESERVES to be the world number one. He's in super form and he's playing incredibly. I think he'll maintain his position for a long timeif he keeps playing the way he's playing. He's young and full of energy. Vamos Rafa!

We'r in for some great years of tennis for sure!!

  4. well, its quite possible for Nadal to have this window of opurtunity to dominate, he is still young enough.. if he gets on a good mometum, and stays consistent and healthy.. he will be very hard to beat.  Nadal is also adapting and changing his style to be less physically draining, in particular on the hardcourts.  however that is just the problem itself, nadals game requires alot of physical strength and stamina..... in 3 years time i am sure it would zap him a little bit.... so he must still adapt.

the second isssue being when federer was in his time of dominace... more earlier on... mens tennis was not as deep as it is right now... the last year or so has changed things....There is alot more young up and coming tennis stars that Nadal is going to have to contend with... Such as novak Djovick, Andy Murarry, Richard Gasquet, the list goes on

but in any case Nadal has alot ahead of good things ahead of him..

    love the guy!

  5. Rafa is a very good player, but I doubt if he'll be able to hold on #1 for 4 years straight.

  6. It may be too early to tell, but I think his playing style may not allow for it.  He just slams the ball, runs for every single ball, and is not very efficient on court. If he wants to stay on top for a long time he will need to improve his foot work so he does not burn up all his energy. He always has his knees taped up because he just slams on the hard courts.

Roger dominated the game for so long due to his clean efficient playing style. He was never burnt out and was able to make it to 2 grand slam finals back to back at the age of 26.

  7. i think rafa is gonna be good but i think players will soon figure his fast power game out

  8. yes, if he can get used to hard courts

  9. yes

  10. No, Rafa's game is so much more physically taxing on the body than Federer's.

  11. I believe Rafa will hold on to that spot for some time but I think he can't last as long as Fed did because of the physical game he plays (which is remarkable by the way), but in the span of time that he is number one he can achieve so much more than Fed did. He is young (22yrs), no? He might even achieve the career grand slam before Fed.

But we can't predict this kinds of stuff. He's winning right now and is in great shape. That's what matters.

    Vamos Rafa!

  12. rafa the **** sucks donkey ***!!!!!   i hate that guy!  i've always been with federer.  i hope roger gets better and dominate!

  13. He is a very determined person...If he plays up to his standards, put in maximum effort, then he will sure dominate for a long time. He is still young and there is plenty of room for improvement..

  14. I think he will be able to dominate the game of tennis, but not as long as Federer.  He's 22, I would like to see a few more years in him of good domination.

  15. I'd say no-Nadal as he gets older will have to play with less physical strain. For Nadal to play the way he does for the next 4 years is a big ask and I am sure he is aware he will eventually have to adapt if he wants to have a longer career. I was impressed with his approach on the hard Courts this year as he was moving more like Federer does-little steps rather than big strides.

I think it will be remarkable if he does dominate for as long as Federer has. His style of play is suited to the very young(18-23) and once he hits 26 it will be like a pensioner dancing around in a corset!(too old) So if he does intend to dominate for as long or even longer than Federer he will have to slowly adapt his game to be less physically strenuous.

  16. I don't think so, his style of play is too demanding and Federer will be looking to get the title back

  17. Nadal is cool and great and deserves being no.1, this year he has been particularly awesome,(i couldn't believe he lost to tsonga(where is he now) in aus open)

however i believe he has focused a bit more on Federer than other players, so he is vulnerable to lose once or twice. and now maybe after winning back to back Grand Slams and Olympic gold, he has found, what it takes to stay no.1 for long.

Lets see what he does in US open.

  18. Yes, I don't see why not. He has the potential and the game to do it and now he's got to put 2 and 2 together and he'll be a great player!

  19. I'm not sure, but I'll tell you who will NEVER dominate again - skinny Roger.

  20. I don't think so.be no.1 4 237 consecutive weeks!it's incredible.after roger federer Jimmy connors stands is the 2nd place by 160 consecutive weeks.just see the difference. I really challenge any player to stay as world no.1 as long as Roger b'cos it's not easy to stay as world No.1 for a long time nowadays b'cos it needs a lot of hard work, a lot of focus, a lot of fitness, a lot of practice, a lot of competitve matches and a lot more.

  21. Absolutely not.  He will go the way of Chang or Hewitt soon since his game is so physical and requires him to constantly be grinding in long, tough matches.  Eventually it will wear him down to the point where he slips and starts losing.  Plus people will eventually figure out how to handle his spin.

  22. The short answer is no.

As great a player as Nadal is, his style of play is not conducive to a long career (certainly not at the top of the game). Nadal plays a very grinding physical game that will ultimately lead to exhaustion throughout a season and injuries throughout the years. There is no way that he will be able to play like this consistently and dominate the best players in the world for 4 straight years. Especially as he gets older. He has youth on his side now, but that only goes so far. His kind of game eventually takes it's toll. If he were to change his game, beef up his serve, shorten the points, serve & volley and do things like that, then it's possible, but somehow I doubt that's his style.

  23. I'd like to say yes he has a chance but, though some people don't like to hear it, him having to have his knees taped up at age 22 is not a very good thing. That awesome high octane style of play with the running around all over and after every ball will make it harder for Rafa the older he gets. I definitely think he'll hold the number one ranking for the rest of this year for sure, but I think he'll lose it early next year because like the poster above me said Federer has been on top for FOUR years and obviously he knew how to handle the competition to stay number one four years in a row. Rafa will have to contend with allot of other young guys much like himself who are hungry for glory and will be extremely competitive like Djokovic especially and many others and let's not forget Federer will always be at his back because he knows better than Rafa how to be number one and keep it that way. Some people think Federer is not a threat because of his "bad" year and his age, but if many players like Conners and Agassi have shown us, age doesn't mean a thing. Federer is completely healthy, his problem is confidence and mental toughness but he'll get over it and he'll be back on top again and being number 1 is important to him and he will come after the number 1 ranking like a tiger. I love Rafa and he's such an awesome player but I don't think he will keep the number 1 ranking as long as Federer, it'll be too tough with the extreme competition he'll face and the way he plays.

  24. I don't think he'll be No. 1 for as long as R Fed was because this is a transitional phase in tennis and over the next year or two I think they'll be alot of changes throughout the top 5...
