Do you think Reed Sorenson is going to replace Patrick Carpentier at GEM?

Question

Sorenson has been signed at GEM for 2009, and we were supposed to know about Carpentier's future in mid-August. It's nearing the end of August now, and still no word about it. Your thoughts?

no, he might join them, but to take over Carpentier spot i don't think he will. he still adjusting. i think he is getting better. and next year he will see a the same tracks. he is still learning. but if all these team owners that brought the open wheels guys over should have been willing to let them learn stock car racing.

Well Kahne obviously isn't going to be replaced.

And I'm happy to see Sadler finally doing a good job.

Can't wait to see what Reed can do on GEM!

No. Carpentier is a first class addition to NASCAR.

I hope not, it's actually nice to see these open wheel guys come over and show the other guys what they have.  Wish they'd give them a break!

It kinda looks like that is going to be the case. I think Patrick is improving only having his 1st slip up of qualifying during Bristol this past race weekend. I hope that Reed gets his own ride (perhaps the #91) & Patrick gets to stick with the #10 or maybe switch them around since Patrick is a great qualifier & Reed is probably a better NASCAR Race Car driver.

Yes, I think so. I don't see where GEM has the resources or sponsors to support 4 teams.They are struggling currently with 3.

God I hope so, we need more experienced NASCAR drivers on the GEM crew, but nothing has been said about where Patrick Carpentier is headed , or if he's even leaving?

There is a possiblity that Sorenson will replace Carpentier in the cup series. Patrick has been a good driver and not have the finishes that the team wanted. So i think it will be a good move on Reed part and being teammates with Elliott Sadler and Kasey Kahne

Im a dedicated GEM fan. And, I really do like Carpentier, but he has not been making the finishes GEM wants.  I wouldn't be surprised if he takes his place, but I hope not.

No. I really hope Carpentier can stick around with GEM. He's a great addition to the team. If they boot Carpentier, I personally would be ticked off.

I hope not. I like Carpentier--I think he just needs more time. It's not like Sorenson is a huge improvement. What has he done lately?
