Do you think Religious books provide some followers with the required ammunition to kill and hate?

we have seen that in the past and continue to see it today. any religious book can be used for hate and violence. people can find writing that justifies cruelty in their religious texts and use them to justify their beliefs.

But since Atheists dont have any book as such there is no way they can draw verses to hate and kill.

while i agree that that there are good and bad people who are religious and Atheists , since religious people own books that contain verses of hate, dont you think religions lean towards been more dangerous than atheism?

People who twist the truth will find any ammunition they want for anything they want to do. Religious books are not only used to justify killing.  Some men also use the same religious books to justify their warped dominion over their wives and children. It seems to me that people use the books for everything but it's intended purpose.
