Do you think Robert Downey Jr. played a good Charlie Chaplin?

I think he is a good actor and played charlie chaplin perfectly. Cuz I've always been fascinated with chaplin and I was fascinated with downey playing him. Wow, he is very good.

I thought Robert was just amazing in Chaplin. Geraldine Chaplin, who played her own grandmother in the movie, even thought so. She said of him -

"Robert Downey is just devastating. He's so devastating. I mean, he captured everything there was. I don't know how he did it. I think he was possessed. That daddy took a trip down from heaven and got inside him. Because that couldn't have been just acting."

I HATED 'Less Than Zero'.  Couldn't see why they bothered to film it.  However , the ONLY redeeming quality was Robert Downey, Jr.  He's always been good.  The drug use was a setback, but he seems to be doing quite well now.

I don't recall him in 21 Jump Street.  Could that be Johnny Depp??

Downey made a great Chaplin. He knew the character, studied his films, his movements and got them down pat, then added his own talent into the mix. He had a little trouble capturing Chaplin's voice, but he caught the essence of the public and private Chaplin very well. I can't think of anyone else who could do better.

I can't stand him,I use to watch  21 jumpstreet,& I didn't like him then...sorry,I really have strong feeling against him.

I think Downey did an excellent job in Chaplin. He had the

look and the manners of Chaplin down to a fine art. I think

he is a very good actor and I hope that he has truly beaten

his drug habit because if he has I think he will go down as one of the U.S.'s more respected actors rather than just 'a movie star'.
