Do you base your vote on this issue? Or do you think that it is not going anywhere, and just base your vote on the other issues?

  1. Because a decision was made does not make it right and it does not mean that someday it could be overturned.

Am I mistaken or did the woman who initiated the case turn around and then regret what her case had brought to bare? Or was that the atheist Madalyn O'Hare who eventually saw the light?

At any rate I though it was a great decision when I was a young man because it got myself out of a potential jamb if I got some gullible woman who I had no intentions to marry if she got pregnant.

It was a fail-safe if other contraception methods failed.

Fortunately I never had to sweat, or be part of, that decision because I ALWAYS used condoms. Young people are ill prepared to raise families let alone support them.

This is even before you ever even heard of Herpes let alone Aids.

And for that matter I even bought my own condoms, can you imagine that? How did I ever do it without the governments help? Thanks for the advice Dad!

Anyway as I matured and became less selfish I began to consider what a shallow, though somewhat responsible, person I was.

If you can't control your urges try to do the right thing and at least try to be responsible.

Abortion is a terrible form of birth control.

  2. Yes but the states will always have the last say....

As a matter of fact the Roe v Wade decision never mentioned it as a womans right....that is a metaphor found among feminists along the way.

the decision only implied that there was no certainty of when life began and until science could prove otherwise then it should be legal.

Since then Science has proven life begins almost immediatley....a heart is beating within a few weeks. the brain is formed in days....

  3. lets hope not. to have the govemment tell a human being what the can or not do with their body is slavery no matter how they try to explain it. and the afro-americans can tell you what that is,. you have to be free to live your life.

  4. Before Roe v.Wade, it was up to the individual states to pass laws on abortion rights. New York, for instance, was one of the first states to allow legal abortion and women who could afford it, would go to NY for the procedure. Roe v. Wade made it so that abortions would be legal throughout the rest of the country.

What has happened since is that certain states have changed the law with extreme restrictions, such as not permitting abortions after the first trimester, restricting the fallacy of "partial birth abortions" (there is no such thing as a partial birth abortion - it was a term made up to scare people). Another issue is that many states don't have providers to perform the procedure or the providers are so far away that poor women cannot afford to make the trip or even afford to have the procedure done.

If Roe is overturned, there will always be certain states that will continue to allow legal abortions (we call them blue states), but for women in other states, it will probably be near impossible to have the procedure done legally.

My fear is the return of the back alley abortion and the possible effects on a woman's future fertility. I also marvel at how the same people who are against Roe are also against universal health care, universal day care, Head Start, decent schools, etc. Its as I have always said, these people care about the fetus when it is in the womb and afterwards, the kid is on his/her own.

  5. Do I think it will be overturned ?.......I really hope not . Women deserve to have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE ! ....it is their body after all. But in all reality, w/ all of the Bible pounding Politicians out there today, I can easily see it happening within the next 2-3 presidential elections . Because lets face it, there really isn't very much of a Separation Of Church and State in politics anymore !  It almost seems that a politicians religious standing is more important than their views on politics in general , and that should not be the case !

Will I base my vote on this issue?.....maybe .  But who knows. Between the choices in the next presidential election, we are simply choosing the lesser of two evils anyway . I really don't want Bible pounding politicians turning this country in to a police state, or changing our schools curriculum to teach our children creationism(McCain & Palin)....or telling the women of the U.S. what they can and cannot do w/ their bodies for that matter(McCain & Palin are both strongly pro-life)....but that just may be the case in the next 10 - 20 yrs.

I'll listen to all of the candidates and what they plan to do for the country during their term as President, but......who will I pick ?? We'll all have to choose wisely this time ! Because this election, possibly more than any other in the last century, will definitely shape the course of the U.S. and the world for a long time to come!

  6. No!  And it shouldn't be overturned.

  7. If McCain becomes President it would be overturned.. McCains past on this issue should be a sure sign. He was the biggest advocate against Roe V Wade in the senate.. Look at his voting history on this subject if you still want to believe what the Republicans are trying to feed you.. It doesn't match their answers...

BTW  there will be atleast 3 new judges assigned by the next President for those of you that believe that the present supreme court will uphold it...  This is why McCain is such a danger to place in the office of President, this next President will have the power to change alot.

  8. I doubt if it will ever be overturned.  Roe v Wade is used as a wedge issue every election to rile up folks.

  9. No it won't. The reason is because the thought of going back to the back alley abortion is inconceivable.  However we need to figure out how to keep the s***s of today using it as a form of birth control.  They are the ones making it bad for the rest.  This trend of teenagers breeding is awful.  My niece was telling me of a 13 year old who was pregnant.  That is unthinkable.  What is going on?  Do parent not have any control of their kids?

  10. it will be overturned and then overturned back again, perhaps several times over many years depending on the moral beliefs of the times

  11. yes, i think there is a good chance it will be overturned.

  12. Yes.

If McCain and Palin have their way.

McCain will appoint two extremely conservative judges to the Supreme Court bench.  Then they'll have enough votes to overturn Roe v. Wade and set women back 50 years.

And Palin even wants to ban birth control pills because they obstruct the fertilization of eggs.

I would never vote for McCain and Palin.  I don't want to see women lose their right to choose.

  13. it should never be overturned!

  14. Anything can be overturned with the right judges, will it be overturned, no.

  15. yes i base my vote on the issue of where the candidate stands with it.  No, I don't think it will get overturned.

  16. If McCain is elected then there is a big chance it will happen, 3 of the justices in the supreme court are older than McCain, so it is safe to assume they will retire in a few years. If he picks conservative justices like Alito and Scalia, like he is promising women can kiss choice goodbye

    VOTE OBAMA/ BIDEN
