Do you think Roger federer will go through this y'r without winning any grand slam or masters series events?

Maybe one Masters, but certainly no slams - he won't win the US.

I really hope not. But every player has ups and downs in his career. Roger is a champion and a legend and I think the pressure is getting into him. He is playing well in the US Open, let's see what happens..

That's a good question! Until last year it was IMPOSSIBLE to even think of something like this! But his exit from the Australian Open was the start of his downfall. He's been in poor form lately. But so what? He's still a champion and a legend! Every player has his bad points.. Remember Sampras? One phase of his career was really poor but he did manage to win a Slam before retiring.

This year's been hard for Roger but we can't forget how dominant he was at this time last year. Its about time other players except Federer, Nadal and Djokovic got recognition! I think he won't win a Slam this year, but he'll end the year with a Masters title under his belt. I THINK HE CAN DO IT - if he's lucky and puts out everything he's got.

After the Wimbledon debacle we thought he would bounce back in the Olympics. But he made a mess of it there. Even in ongoing US Open he hardly looks like a potential winner. In fact, I would be shocked if he DOES win anything.

It is a forgone conclusion that he's not going to win anything.

I think that Federer will actually win even though he is not number 1 anymore.

One of the main reasons he will win is simply because Nadal played better when he was Number 2. An example is the way he played against Querrey.

He cannot deal with the pressure of being expected/favored to beat Federer as the worlds #1 player.

last year that would have been a ridiclous screnario and unheard off, but right now its a very likely reality we are going to face!

i am 80% sure he will not win the US OPEN... forget it, too many players that will threaten his chances there..

but maybe the master series is possible as the top 8 players but be overtired or  not as amped by then...

The only way for Federer to stand a chance for the US Open, is to have someone knock out Nadal (Querrey is doing a good job at the moment), and then maybe Roger will get his hopes up and rush to the title. If he makes it to the final anyway.

Yes, it would have been very shocking if someone would have said in the beginning of the year that Federer is not gonna win any of the GS and Masters title.

I think that he still has a good chance of winning the US Open. I think Roger wants to win the US Open more than Nadal, especially after his tragic loss in the fading light in London at Wimbledon.

i think he would go this year without winning any grand slam.............he has been in not so good form this year and  not to forget nadal is still above the water level in a splendid form.
