  1. No, don't think so ,  between NFL / MLB fans know/luv these..so introducing something new will not fly..look at the expectations on Soccer in the 80's

  2. no  there are many sports that are very good but will never be accepted by main stream america for a lot of americans the only reason they know where other countrys are is because they have troops there it is a flaw in the education system that causes tunnel vision having spent some time in this system i know little  reguard is given to the rest of the world this transends though to sport as well and unless some person or corpertration with alot of money they are willing to part with steps in and force feeds it i cant see it happening which is a shame because the usa 7s team have really devloped into a team which can compeate with alot of teams now

  3. i hang out with a league of rugby players

when i go out for hot wings for dinner

the entire place is filled with rugby players

they just just bring it up

    they are on blackthorn

    but there tons of teams

its accepted, just not televised i guess?

  4. Rugby is accepted by Americans.    Not all of them but sufficient numbers on the West coast to keep the code viable.    Unlike Am. football the U.S. does have  'National' teams [15 man and 7's] that play in international matches at home and offshore so the fan base is larger.    I'm a supporter of the U.S. Eagles rugby team yet I do not live there.

  5. M F... rugby is nothing like american football! First of all, rugby players are expected to play a full 80 mins rather than 5 minutes on 5 minutes off. Rugby players are required to be diversified athletes who need to understand how to attack, defend, handle the ball and play as a team. Rugby is a greater game than NFL.

I think the reason rugby is not as well liked in the US is just because it's something relatively new to the country. I'm an Aussie and I don't think NFL would take to on very well if it was introduced here. It's just that old habits die hard.

  6. i love rugby...i wish it was more popular here in the US... i think if american gladiators is such a hit, rugby should definitely be accepted above that!

  7. Age old question and the answer is no.

It's the same as trying to have Gridiron in other countries.  It doesn't work

  8. No definately not.

  9. i thinks americans would respect the phisicality of rugby. only if the infrastructure was set up properly it could catch on...

  10. Rugby is pretty much the same as American football but without the extra padding which makes it a lot more dangerous. So I don't think they'll adopt a sport which they already have that is doing well...

  11. It is a minority sport in USA, grid iron is played more becuase they need padding incase they hurt themselves. Harden up and get into a real sport of rugby union!!!
