  1. Tell this to Saddam Hussain

  2. i dont think so i think wat is great about the olympics is that countries can put past their differences and compeat in the same room but then again that doesnt always work but they should still be able to compete

  3. No.  No one should be dis-qualified or not be eligible to play just because we are all in a hissy fit.  This is a world event and d**n it everyone better play!!!!!

  4. If they get thrown out for that... why the h**l are we allowing China of all evil people to HOST it?

They kill their own citizins left and right just for trying to THINK... THAT is 100X more evil then whatever the h**l it is that the Former USSR is doing...

  5. If you Americans don't like it, you can withdraw your team, you can keep your medals. Good riddance.

  6. Right after the US is thrown out for invading Iraq.

  7. Nope.

"Military invasion goes against the spirit of the Olympics"

Not really , what about the lack of human rights around the world and in China itself?

  8. kicking a country out would make it worse

  9. No, the Olympic committee should condemn Russia for violating the spirit of the Olympics, but ultimately the Olympics are not a political event.

  10. Why should the  Russian olympians have to suffer for their government's actions?

  11. No, why penalize the olympians when its the governments doings.

  12. Do you really think Russia would care one way or another?  Russia is reverting to its old communist ways and doesn't care what the world thinks.  Kick them out of the olympics, have the president give them a "stern" warning, have the U.N. send them a nasty letter after debating it until Georgia is once again a part of Russia, shake your finger at them.  None of that will faze them.  They know the West will do nothing but talk and make meaningless gestures like the olympics thing.  They know the West is nothing but a bunch of wimps.  So go ahead and kick them out of the olympics.  It will give them a good chuckle.

  13. I would say yes, but it's not the athletes fault that the government is stupid.

  14. Thats a hard one..... no I dont think that they should be thrown out because well the regular people who watch the Olympics and are competing they arent interested in politics and wars. They are just people who want to enjoy the sport and it is above politics and wars and all those things it is about people. It is about regular people doing something for people not really for countries or anything. It is the only time where people - regular people, can see regular people from all over the world doing something that is united.

I know it sounds all airy fairy and peace and love like but really its the people who are the regular citzens of a country who are always punished - be it through war or gov restrictions etc so in a way the Olympics holds up and stands for the human race and no division or influence from goverment should intrude. People are better then that. Its importnant that all over the world people all over the world see that.

  15. No, China has done alot worse (and is still doing it)

At least Russia has a somewhat legitimate reason unlike China

So no, not if China isn't out.

  16. I don't believe in mixing politics and the Olympics.  Some might condemn the US invasion of Iraq and say that we should be thrown out.  There are also dozens of dictatorships around the world that are represented in the Olympics.

I think that as long as each country follows the Olympic rules and allows their athletes to fairly compete for a place at the Olympics, then every country should be allowed in.

  17. It's hardly Russia's fault that Georgia decided to start a war right as the Olympics started. If they had waited until after the Olympics to protect their citizens in South Ossetia, there might not have been any left alive to protect.

  18. true. but seriously, I've lost count of how many times the US has invaded a small Latin American country...

Mexico, Cuba, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, Cuba again... (not necessarily in order)

    EDIT:

"Countries should not be able to acquire the prestige of an Olympic medal while they are off killing people somewhere else int[sic] he[sic] world"

Well, that rules out just about everyone; especially the US.

  19. No. MOTHERLAND!
