I was going to say she has potential to get to the no. 1 spot, but that's an understatement. She definitely has what it takes right now.

So do you think she will get to no. 1 and when?

  1. i think so.  she has the consistency that is so lacking with other top female tennis players.

  2. Yes Safina most definitely has what it's take to be the next tennis player, to dominate woman's tennis for the next 5 years, this girl is ready and she can play. not only that i think Safina is more better then Ana Ivanovic who is having trouble and was feeling the pressure of the #1 ranked tennis player in WTA

But as for Safina i see her winning her 1st Grand Slam by next year that is if she does not win this years US Open. other then that i could see Caroline Wozniacki and Alize Cornet being  the only threat to Safina. that is when both of those tennis players  are ready to live off of there potential

Edit: I will give Safina 1 year  to being ranked the #1 female tennis player in the world. right now it seems no one wants that spot. and with Maria injuries happening every year cause she not healthy and be playing injured. then i see Safina being the best player next year

  3. She will be number one in less then a year. She is just an amazing player with loads of talent. Her match against Jankovic today was awesome. She played very well.

  4. yes big time.. safina really came together now.... she is a totally different player compared to last year..... big time....

i can see her being the next person up for dominating the game.. shes got the power, consistency and fitness to do so..

i think she is more worthy of a number 1 rank compared to jankovic...

She will have a good run at the US OPEN

but the true number one was justine henin.. that was for sure...

  5. I believe so, I think she might enter the top 3 by the end of this year, but if she really kicks and keeps everything into gear she may be number one by the end of this year for sure. I like her powerful shots, and fighting spirit on court. Her grunts are kinda funny, though. Yeah, the match with Jelena was a good one, and she proved to Jelena she wanted to win more. I think Jelena needs to rest before the US Open,a lot! Dinara is great, I've never really heard or seen her get hurt or anything before. She seems like a warrior at the moment.

  6. Absolutely, she is the only womens player I enjoy watching.  She is intense and animated,  I like her alot.

She will win Gold at the Olympics and the US Open!!!

  7. I really, really, really, like Safina.  She is a breath of fresh air in tennis.  I know she has the potential to be No. 1.  I just hope she doesn't wear herself thin, trying to play every slam.  She is a heavy hitter and like the Williamses, she should pick and choose which Slams to play in, to avoid major injuries.  Play more than the Williams sisters, but don't over do it.  How long can you be the "comeback kid" in a third set.

And I keep thinking about Valdaisova.  She too, seem to have had the potential to be No. 1.  But, somehow she seems to have bowed out.

I think Safina should be crowding the No.1 spot by middle next year, even though I  read somewhere that Ana Ivanovic is the new No. 1, AGAIN.  Jankovic could not hold on to it.

OH YEAH, I bet good looking big brother Marat wish he was at the OLYMPICS!!!!

  8. I hope so.  Anyone but the goddamn Williams sisters.  I think she will get to number one, within the next year or so.  Unlike the other women though, I think she'll be able to keep it for quite some time.

  9. no
