Do you think Sarah Palin still believes in "abstinence only" s*x education?

The statistics show that it hasn't reduced teen pregnancy at all and it sure didn't work for her daughter. Do you think she'll reconsider?

  1. Of course. Because it's the right message to give young people who are not really ready for s*x. Just like all the programs about not smoking or drinking or doing drugs, and all the people who worked to remove candy and soda machines from schools. Promiscuity should not be encouraged.

Because the fact is that the more explicit s*x ed that taught about s*x and protection like the kids were going to do it, did nothing to reduce teen pregnancy.

And while teen pregnancy has been going down during roughly the same time as abstinence programs have been increasingly used, there is no statistical correlation.

  2. That and underage drinking

  3. I believe in my heart that this is a very private matter for Sarah Palin's family because if this was my own daughter I would be devastated if people were talking about her teen pregnancy.

However, just like Purple said, this is her POLITICAL opinion which makes it PUBLIC and up for discussion.

I also believe that no matter what you teach your kids -abstinence or safe s*x- they are going to do what they want. But I think that as much as I want my own children to abstain I have also spoken to them about the importance of protecting themselves. I can only hope that my message has gotten through. Like I said, they are going to do what they want so I think it's best to give them the correct information on how to protect themselves. After all, getting pregnant isn't the only thing that can happen if you have unprotected s*x, so in that respect I think it is dangerously irresponsible to teach abstinance ONLY.

But as far as Palin reconsidering her position  --I don't think she will.

She has to "save face". Not to mention that her daughter's situation is not a typical one. Their family has the means to bring another child into the family and I assure you Bristol and her boyfriend will not miss out on a college education because of this baby. I doubt she will have to watch her daughter work 2 or 3 jobs to support herself and her child or worry about the cost of daycare.

So from Sarah Palin's perspective, I'm don't think she feels it's a position she needs to reconsider. Unfortunately.

  4. Who cares?

Stop spinning someone's personal beliefs or personal situation into a political discussion.

    We all have our skeletons.

You can't fault Palin for wanting to succeed in life.

  5. For the person above it's not just her PERSONAL beliefs it's her Political beliefs in abstinence only that do matter in the election.

  6. NO.She will not change her mind, she may however not be so willing to push it off on others but people who get a mindset usually do not ever change.I am appalled anyone could think that is the only answer,it only takes one time to either get pregnant or to get some STD.Why would any healthy person take that chance? Why would they condemn their children to live with something of that nature that could have been prevented? That is verging on criminal.Just a thought.

  7. Ok people- get this straight-

YOU DO NOT HAVE  A PRIVATE LIFE WHEN YOU RUN FOR OFFICE!

Everything you do or say is under a microscope- as is the the people in your life.

Obviously, abstinence didn't work for her daughter. That should be a huge eye opener- if she can't teach her daughter the values of abstinence- then does she really think it is going to work for the rest of the country?

Do marriages of a 17 & 18 year old due to a pregnancy really last? Is it a good idea? Jeez!

    Get real!

  8. This is no ones business about Sara Palins daughter.

Anyone with common sense knows it doesn't matter what kids are taught about s*x, if they think they are in love all teachings fly out the window.
