Please state specific reasons why. Like, the cost of living, peace & order, weather (average winter temperature), economic prospects.

  1. You do not say what you do for a living, that may have some bearing on whether or not it is a good place to move to.  It can get quite windy in the prairies, not a lot of big trees for wind break.  The winters can be brutal.  It takes acres and acres of land to eek out a living as a farmer or rancher.  The seasons are not all that crop friendly.  There are not all that many major cities, Regina is the capital and probably the largest city in the province.  There are other minor cities and Small cow towns here and there.  The further north you get the less towns and population.  The summers can be hot and dry and windy.  The people there are like anywhere else in the world, some bad ones, but mostly good ones.  I am sure that one could get a good job in the cities if you looked around.

  2. saskatchewan = booooooooooooooring

  3. Yes.....

Every peace seeker must love "Saskatchewan"  because no. 1. Social security, 2. weather. 3. behavior. 4. development place.I thing all environment is good for living and working this place. after that retirement security is best important of one.

  4. A great place! I am from Saskatchewan, left for university and then came back. A fine place. I wonder if it might be "the next Alberta" ... the next "boom" province.

  5. Its a growing city but really cold in winter. i believe you have to try something first  if not move out.

  6. I'd say it has an excellent economy with high food and fertilizer prices currently destroying the world.

  7. Do like cold winters????  ????  . Come to BC milder climate  nice people   If you like the out doors this is the place. The Olympics are comming  ,Skilled workers needed.See hellobc  and tourismvancouver

  8. LOL!!! Ash, Saskatchewan is NOT a city - it's a province, not a state - Canada has provinces.

Anyway, there's lots of different cities in Saskatchewan. What kind of lifestyle are you looking for? There are Indian Reserves, there's big cities, there are small towns, there's a hockey town, farming communities - lots of different lifestyles.

Saskatoon and Regina are the biggest cities here that have "city lifestyle" including night life, concerts, good shopping, great opportunities for careers...etc. Regina just got a "Chili's" restaurant...maybe that's an incentive for you. Who knows?

If you are a skilled trades worker (construction, oil rigs, welder, etc.) then there are lots of jobs all over Canada that need workers. Nurses are in pretty high demand. However, it's a "worker's economy" right now, meaning that you can basically find pretty good work with pretty good pay as a lot of the baby boomers are retiring and moving out of the work force.

Saskatchewan winters are...not fun. With temperatures dipping as low as -40 with the wind chill (sometimes more than that even), it's dangerous to be outside without proper clothing on for more than a minute without getting severe frostbite. However, the people here dress weather appropriate and have plug ins for their cars so their engines don't freeze.

Winter comes around the end of October or beginning of November usually and the snow usually starts melting in March. That being said, we have gorgeous summers. You will never see bluer skies - I can guarantee you that. We get hot summers and rain sometimes too.

Specific reasons why Saskatchewan is a great place to live:

Economy is rising - better housing, more competitive jobs etc.

great standard of living for lower cost of living compared to places like Alberta of British Columbia

lots to see and do - Corner Gas was filmed in Saskatchewan, lots of museums, a huge country music festival every year in Craven, Saskatchewan, Sask is getting big music concerts now - just had the Rolling Stones a few years ago, just had Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and N.E.R.D. and Rhianna...lots  for different kinds of tastes for different people

There's lots to see and do and lots of employment opportunities here, but I wish you luck in making your decision.
