Question:

Do you think Scott Speed is the real deal?

I think he's proving himself each week to be a very talented driver. I hadn't even heard of him before this season, but I think he already has 4 Arca wins as well as the points lead, and of course a truck win on top of it. Any word on when/if he will be in the cup series anytime soon? I think he will be successful with the right group behind him, what do you think?

  1. Heey bestanswerr!  Yeah I think he is the real deal.  And he is right where he should be,....for now.  Let him get another season or so under his belt so that he can really run (and compete) with the big dogs.

  2. i like him and he is running the majority of his truck races in September and October.  i don't understand why they didnt give him a permanent truck ride this year. i guess they wanted to see how he did.  maybe he will be in nationwide part time next year or cup but yes i think hes the real deal.

  3. Yes, he is the real deal. He just needs to get in the right equipment when he gets to Cup.

  4. I'd really like to see him in Nationwide or Sprint.

I expect him to be great when he gets up there.

  5. He was a massive failure in Formula 1, but he might be ok in Nascar

  6.   Scott Speed is on his way being in the same class as Stewart-Gordon-Johnson.He runs good and knows how to listen to the spotter and crew cheif.

He is on the fast road becoming a champion.

  7. Yeah... what "Sleezestack" said.

  8. h**l Yeah he is Great!

  9. At first I figured he'd be another open wheel driver to crash and burn, but he has proved that he can drive a stock car.  However he hasn't exactly driven against an "A" list driver.  He'll be in cup soon enough, then we'll see how he does against drivers like Stewart, Johnson, and Busch.

  10. Yes

I have been impressed.  He grew up not far from where I live now. He and Scott Pruitt are the local drivers here.

  11. Yes.  He was runner up in GP2 racing during a season he had some kind of intestinal disease.  He regularly matched Tonio Liuzzi at Toro Rosso in F1.  That team sucked *** everywhere and frankly no one made it run good while he was there.  There were bright spots but often as not, he was in them.  It is inaccurate to say he failed in f1 as he never had a proper chance.

He has a great attitude, an upbeat personality, and has somehow learned the humility to not require a cup or nationwide ride on day 1.  I think it will serve him well.  Who would you rather have among ex road racers - or ex open wheelers - I think he beats them all except for perhaps Montoya.  One could thrown in Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart as well, but they have been in Cup so long it ins't a fair comparison.

He certainly will end up there, and I imagine he will be put in a competitive ride, as he has earned his way at the arca level.  I say more power to him, he could be the next truly diverse american driver, in the gurney mold.

  12. Yeah he's a no-good, you can have him over there in nascar, he might be better at chasin his tail.

  13. I am impressed with him so far. Before this year, I had never actually seen him race, and I just thought he would be another unsuccessful ARCA driver moving to NASCAR. However, I was pleasantly surprised! His win at Dover in the truck series required lots of skill, skill I now believe Speed possesses. Despite all his little eccentricities (like painting his toe nails before the race), he has a chance to become a great Cup driver when given the chance (sometime in the next 4 years I think).

  14. Yes, Scott is the real deal..Its just to bad F1 didn't pan out for him, but then he was in the worse c**p out there. He's a great guy I've followed him a long time.. He was a member of that Red Bull future US F1 driver thing where he got picked to drive F1 for a season, that was a waste of time for him...Glad he is doing great in ARCA, he's driving some more truck races this yr, I'm sure he'll be in Nationwide next yr or heck maybe a Cup ride later in the yr.. He is a road course guy, who is doing in right coming up through the ranks before he gets out there with the big Cup Guys.. Yes he is the real deal, he is alittle arrogant, and wild, alittle like Rowdy Busch... Yep, Scott is the real deal.. Way to go Scotty.

  15. he very well could be

  16. While unsuccessful in F1, his driving style so far seems to make him a natural in a stock car. He's tearing up ARCA this year and also won in the truck series. If I was a CUP owner I definitely be taking a look at him. Too bad Toyota and Red Bull already have him locked up...be great seeing him race for some of the other teams who need a great driver. Definitely agree with you that he will be successful especially since the #83 and #84 cup teams have caught fire here lately.

  17. Oh absolutely.

I'd love to see him get a cup ride, that'd be great. Haven't heard anything on whether or not it'll be happening any time soon though.

There's gotta be teams that are taking notice of him, hopefully it's a well funded team..

  18. he's gotta be in more races to prove that. Looks like a Joey Logano to me, but in all respect to his fans (i am one) he should change his name...it sounds cool at first since he's a NASCAR racer but it makes non-fans think he's a weirdo and it's not his real name.
