  1. they have the talent. should play attacking cricket rather than triyng to defend all the time. then they might have a chance

  2. Yes, of course they can. In fact, all four results (win for either team, draw, or tie, are all still a possibility).

South Africa will have to bat exceptionally well in their second innings if they are to win the game, and England will have to have a collapse of, well, English proportions if a South African win is to become a possibility, but there is a still a faint hope that could happen.

A draw is certainly on the cards. The Proteas have the batting power to bat out the last two days. England have already had one day in the field; if they are still in the field at the start of day five, and the South Africans are level scoring with only three or four wickets down, then they will start to feel demoralised.

A lot of people have been surprised by the South African performance in this Test. I think they were a little under prepared, and Steyn and Ntini had problems finding their line on the Lord's slope. I think the batting suffered as a result of some tight bowling by England, and the daunting total facing them.

Overall I would make England favourites to win, followed by a draw. South Africa will only win if England play really badly.

And yes, believe it or not, I am a cricket fan!

Edit: No, I am from England. However I did live in South Africa for a couple of years when I was a child.

  3. Yes, England are still capable of losing this match, let alone drawing it.

Just look at the England -Sri Lanka match at Lords in 2006: Sri Lanka followed on at lunch on the 3rd day 359 runs behind. By the close on the fifth day they were 537-9, 178 runs ahead with up to 40 mins of play still available when the captains called things off. If Sri Lanka had scored a little more quickly, they could have left England say 150 to win in 90 mins against Murali and Vaas on a fifth-day pitch...

The Lords pitch should become pretty lifeless over the next couple of days, and Panesar is going to see a lot of the ball. If Smith and Kallis keep their heads then England could be even more embarrassed than they were 2 years ago.

Seeing as you ask, I'm English and I can remember Botham destroying Pakistan in England in 1978 so yes, I am a long-term fan.

  4. It depends how much it rains!  Two days to go, England should win although the bowling is looking weak in places.  Need Flintoff and Jones back!  I'm English.

  5. yes they can because they have a very strong team and england do look a bit shaky in the field and they will probably look to bat the entire few days out

  6. h**l no! England's batting and fielding performance was far superior to South Africa's, and I don't think that there's any way for them to get back into the match after our performance.

And you may have guessed yes I am a cricket fan

  7. Yes, of course they can

  8. no

  9. I think its too hard for South Africa to save the match.

It is obvious that the result will go in favour of English team.

  10. Stunning collapse. Dont think dey will. No, not SAfrican

  11. Noway!! Man England is performing better than I thought!! RSA will definitely lose this test match!! There's noway they'll be able to recover!!

  12. yes they will because lords pitch is a very flat one and ngland bowlers are going to struggle to get them bowled out in second innings. i am not an south african but i am a cricket fan

  13. they is a slight possibilty for draw as long as Smith and co. manage to stay in & score a couple of 100s. If ( and that's a big if) they manage to do  then they will have to do somethin bout the fielding

And I'm a cricket fan (play for my local club) I'm originally from South Africa but now live in Dublin.

  14. yip at the rate they going now, they wil draw

    im south african
