  1. He got planning permission.

  2. have a point

    .

  3. At the end of the day, he received planning permission for it, so he followed the law.

Why didn't his neighbours object when the planning application was lodged?

  4. Hard to say without seeing a pic of it. I would just be grateful I could afford to live somewhere nice. Whatever it looks like I'm sure it is better than what I can see from my lounge window (a busy main road and work trucks.)   :-(

  5. £350,000 for a gym !!!!  Who said footballers were underpaid ?h**l you could build half a hospital for that much. and all paid for by the football supporters.

  6. Its his own house so he can do what he likes. I think there just jealous because his house looks bigger

  7. seems very 50/50 to me.

it's sour grapes for 50% & common sense for the other 50%.

this ultra-modern building might look fine to some but an eye-sore to others.

Not sure I'd be impressed but then again I'd put up a fence, plant some leylandii if it bothered me that much....

there's always a way of blocking out an eye-sore.

suppose like most neighbourhoods the community spirit has been pushed to it's limit.

  8. they have a point

  9. Who is Steven Gerrard?

  10. maybe he should move down south?

  11. They have a point.  It is really poor taste to be so ostentatious.

A couple who live quite near to me have a lovely bungalow.  They have lovely country views and have spent a lot of money on the gardens of their home.

Next door to them is a farm and the farmer was constantly leaving a mess on the road, not just farm mess but litter and rubbish.  When the couple complained to the local council the farmer promptly built a very large barn in the field adjacent to their property, spoiling what had been a lovely view.  It is still there and they can do nothing about it!!

Neighbour disputes are so common and so difficult to remedy, especially when you are up against someone with plenty of money or clout.

    Good luck to them.
