Teddy that's the point, Zimbabweans are flooding over the border into South Africa in desperation the destruction of the Zimbabwean economy could have been affected possibly even prevented in Umbeki had told his 'friend' to follow South Africa's lead and redistribute wealth in a more structured rather than frenzied way.

Nelson Mandela's legacy of truth and reconsiliation is an example to the world not just to Africa.

  1. Yes of course.  He has also let his own people down with his ludicrous superstition about HIV/AIDS.

But no black African leader is going to criticize or oppose Mugabe - very, very few of them have a defensible record on establishing democracy, fighting corruption, eliminating poverty and combating HIV/AIDS or any other STDs.

And where is Mandela?  His silence on Zimbabwe is deafening.

  2. Both South Africa and Zimbabwe have become puppets of  the mighty Chinese ad Russia. This has restricted Umbeki in what he does and says.Their is no way that Mugabe would get away with the things he has done and doing without the help of these powerful nations.

It is puzzling to know what they are after, other than the whaling in Capetown which is not a big enough prize for the money, arms and effort they have put in.

  3. Yes, if Mugabe was white he would have been shouting from the rooftops. But as he is the same colour, he lets him get away with murder.

  4. how has he failed the people of Zimbabwe surely that is the current incumbent President Robert Mugabe, who seems to have systematically run the country into the ground.

He is after all a leader of another African country, and does not and probably never will condemn Mugabe.

  5. Yep...but then we all failed the people of Zimbabwe...

  6. What makes you think that politics and diplomacy is on the agenda of alpha males.
